Curator’s statement
In February of 2024, I did a site inspection while staying at Mint House Denver. This is not your typical hotel for a few reasons. The first being, check-in is a little different than what you're probably used to. Give it a few extra minutes to learn the process and it will save some time upon arrival. We had a slight hang-up checking in and before we knew it, a staff member named Nancy was there to personally guide us up to our room and answer any questions. She was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms at Mint House are more like apartments rather than hotel rooms. The kitchen is fully stocked to prepare and cook a meal, prompting us to go to the huge Whole Foods grocery store across the street so that we could cook our meal(s) and enjoy the wonderful views of the mountains.

My wife and I live in the Denver area, so we booked a staycation at this hotel and went to a concert downtown. The concert we booked was an event through the Candlelight Concert Series from Fever and watched Range Ensemble perform an evening of Fleetwood Mac songs. It was a brilliant show!

I highly recommend this hotel to people who want to visit Denver and be close to all of the citys attractions. It's centrally located between all of the arenas, the theater district, art district and more restaurants than you'll have time for. It's also right next to Union Station, so you can quite literally go anywhere in the city that has access to a train, light rail or bus. There are even local shuttles that will take you to Vail, Breckinridge and other ski resorts up the mountain.

The lap pool was definitely one of my favorite things about this hotel, along with the entire rooftop area. It was very relaxing! If you enjoy fitness and want to keep your work-out schedule consistent, then you are absolutely going to love this fitness center. It's enormous and has everything you could possibly want to workout with, and then some. I was able to complete a great heavy bag workout and use the medicine balls for some mobility training. If you travel with a dog, they have their own private and enclosed dog park, which is very cool. I always love traveling with my Shiba Inu, Kato. I also love a good cup of hot chocolate, which is accessible via their coffee machine located in the main lobby. It was truly some of the best hot chocolate I had in some time; I kept going back for re-fills.
My Top Recommendations For Your Stay
The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, stove, pots, pans, utensils and supplies to clean up with. It's fully stocked with all of the utensils you need to prepare and cook a meal. Go to the super-huge Whole Foods Grocery store across the street (as noted above) and buy your own food and supplies. When checking in, just note that you'll have to gain access to an email with the door code for your room before you will be permitted upstairs. If you have any questions while you are there, contact guest services. They are very friendly and very helpful!
Need to know
One of my key takeaways for this hotel stay was the central location in what is known as "LoDo" or Lower Downtown. You can easily get anywhere due to its close proximity to Union Station. 16th Street Mall is also just a short walk from this location, which is obviously a little more enjoyable when the weather is nice.
Enjoy your stay!
