The Forest Inn is a bed and breakfast located in Dougals, Michgan very close to downtown Sagatuck. It is a prime location if you are looking for a quiet place to stay and get away from the bustling big city. Located in a small forest less than a mile from Douglas Beach you can hear the waves crashing on a windy day while you enjoy breakfast prepared for you by Inn staff. The Inn is owned by a husband and wife duo who welcome everyone personally with kindness and grace.

Framed photos of birds hanging on the wall.
Water glasses sitting on a side table.

The Inn features a handful of rooms all named after trees. This old-house-turned-inn has plenty of vintage touches mixed with modern charm to transport you to the Victorian era. There are two main seating areas where you are welcome to hang out in your free time as well as a bonfire pit and also a large pool for guests. There is a breakfast nook where coffee is provided daily as well as filtered water to refill your own reusable bottle. Overall the stay is phenomenal and a great place to get away, whether near or far from home.

Fluffed throw pillows on a bed.
A wooden headboard with detailed carvings.

Need to know

I would recommend this stay in the summer if you would like to do outdoor activities such as hiking, surfing or just enjoying the beach. It would make for a great couples get away to relax and recharge the social battery.
