Woodloch Resort
If you’re looking for a truly unforgettable family getaway, you absolutely have to check out Woodloch Resort in Hawley, PA. Seriously, this place was my favorite vacation as a kid, and I still talk about it! It’s an all-inclusive resort nestled in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, and it’s designed specifically for families to connect and have a blast together. You won’t find yourself wondering what to do here because they have an incredible array of activities, from go-karts and bumper boats to waterskiing on the lake, a climbing wall, and even an indoor splash zone. Plus, they have daily planned events like scavenger hunts, family Olympics, and live entertainment that truly make every day an adventure.
What really sets Woodloch Resort apart is the genuine emphasis on “togethering.” They don’t have a formal kids’ club where you just drop off your children; instead, the activities are designed for families to participate in as a unit. This creates so many amazing memories, whether you’re all cheering one another on in a competition or enjoying a hayride through their festive light displays during the holidays. And for the adults, let me tell you, their sister property, The Lodge at Woodloch, boasts a world-class spa that’s often recognized as one of the best in the country. It’s an adults-only oasis of relaxation, but fair warning, it books up incredibly fast because it’s so popular. The staff at both properties are also incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make you feel like part of the family. Honestly, I think Woodloch is a must-try for anyone who wants a vacation filled with fun, laughter, and quality time with loved ones, with a side of luxurious pampering for the grown-ups!

Mohonk Mountain House
If you’re looking for a truly special getaway that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another world, then you absolutely have to check out Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be enveloped by this incredible sense of being in the heart of the country, surrounded by lush forests and stunning natural beauty. It’s a place where you can truly disconnect from the hustle and bustle and just breathe. And here’s a little secret: The “gazebos” scattered across the property, often perched in breathtaking spots, aren’t gazebos at all—they’re called “summerhouses,” and each one was strategically placed to offer a unique, perfectly framed view.
This destination is an absolute dream for anyone who loves to get out and explore. With over 85 miles of incredible hiking trails right at your doorstep, many of which were first built by horsepower and dynamite in 1871, you’ll find endless opportunities to immerse yourself in nature. But even if you’re not a big hiker, there’s so much more to love. Imagine unwinding in a gorgeous indoor pool with panoramic views and underwater music—a feature that’s surprisingly rare. And for all the foodies out there, get ready to be delighted: Mohonk Mountain House is renowned for its delicious, often farm-to-table cuisine, making every meal a truly satisfying experience. Plus, did you know that the hotel hosted the pivotal Lake Mohonk Conferences on International Arbitration from 1895 to 1916, which were instrumental in the creation of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague? It’s not just a resort—it’s a place with a rich and surprising history.

Bungalows Key Largo
Imagine slipping away to Bungalows Key Largo, a place that feels like it’s been plucked right out of a tropical dream, yet is surprisingly just an hour from bustling Miami. What many people don’t realize is that this adults-only oasis wasn’t always the picture of serenity it is today. In fact, back in May of 2019, a fire tragically engulfed its main building. But from those ashes, the resort was reimagined and rebuilt, emerging even more luxurious and focused on creating that ultimate, uninterrupted escape. It’s truly a testament to resilience, offering guests an all-inclusive experience that’s a rarity in the Florida Keys, proving that sometimes, challenges can lead to something even more magnificent.
And here’s a little secret about the design: The owner, Jerry Johnson, traveled the world for inspiration, bringing back elements from places like Mexico and the Amalfi Coast to craft the unique vibe there. But let’s talk about the food, because it was truly to die for, and the best part is that it’s all included. Forget worrying about separate checks or budgeting for every meal; from gourmet feasts at Bogie & Bacall's, their upscale steak and seafood restaurant, to fresh, vibrant Mexican fare at Sea Señor right on the sand, every delectable bite and refreshing cocktail is covered. You might also be surprised to learn that no traditional architect was involved in the bungalow designs—it was all the owner’s personal vision, resulting in those secluded outdoor living spaces with soaking tubs and garden showers that are a signature touch. Plus, the resort is incredibly eco-conscious, with over 100,000 trees and plants meticulously woven into the landscape, making it feel like a truly immersive botanical garden—a far cry from what you might expect just off the highway, especially with endless culinary delights at your fingertips.

Need to know
So, while you might look at the initial price tag for an all-inclusive resort in the US and think it’s a bit steep, hear me out: I genuinely believe they’re worth every penny. Think about it: All your meals, drinks (yes, often including alcohol!), activities, and sometimes even tips and airport transfers are bundled into that one upfront cost. When you factor in what you’d typically spend on food, entertainment, and incidentals at a regular resort, you’ll often find that all-inclusives save you money and, more importantly, a whole lot of stress. It’s about enjoying your vacation without constantly pulling out your wallet, and for that kind of peace of mind, they’re truly a fantastic option.
