WorldVia Travel Network, founded in 1998, is a host agency with a subscription-tier pricing model. It offers four plans from $9 to $299 per month, where higher-priced tiers offer higher commission splits and training access. Fora is a tech-forward host with a $299 annual or $99 quarterly fee for full platform and training access. Commission tiers at Fora scale with your booking volume.

The choice depends on how you weigh training access and commission split against price, and the type of bookings you plan to make.

Pricing and fees

WorldVia’s lowest tier plan costs less than Fora on paper, but you’ll need to upgrade your plan to access higher commission splits. Fora has one flat fee, and your commission split scales with your booking volume. The flat fee fits advisors who want predictable costs and the same platform access regardless of plan tier.

Estimated first-year cost$299–$396$207–$3,787

WorldVia’s Individual plan is slightly lower than Fora’s at $207 in your first year and $108 for future years, but that plan comes with a 70/30 split and limited training access. To access higher splits, you need to upgrade to a higher-priced WorldVia plan. You’ll get the same starting split at Fora, but with full access to the training library and training cohorts, and have the opportunity to scale your commission split without paying extra.

Fora’s fee also includes access to CRM and booking technology, automated invoicing, mentorship opportunities, in-person events, marketing templates, and Fora Reserve preferred partnerships.

Commission splits and rates

While advisors can pay for a higher split at WorldVia, Fora’s preferred partnerships through Fora Reserve, Virtuoso membership, and relationships with major cruise lines mean advisors often earn higher base commissions—averaging 12% compared to the industry standard 5–10%.

Tiered splits

WorldVia advisors raise their split by upgrading their subscription. Fora Advisors raise their split by booking more travel. Fora’s a good choice if you’re ready to invest in growing your business and consider full training access a higher priority. If you want a higher split from the start and are OK with paying more for it, WorldVia may work for you.

Fora’s splits scale with calendar-year booking volume at no extra cost, from 80/20 at $300,000 to 90/10 at $2 million. Established advisors with an existing book of business can join at a split that matches their sales volume.

WorldVia’s Growth plan ($29/month, $348/year) offers a 90/10 split. Enterprise gets you up to 95/5, but that tier is built for multi-advisor agencies rather than solo advisors. Advisors who qualify for direct Sabre access—available on Growth or higher plans for an additional monthly fee—may get up to 80% commission on those bookings, but also pay a per-booking fee. Additionally, WorldVia keeps a larger share of commission for air bookings made via its TRIO or Agent Air platforms: 50%.

The commission that Fora keeps also gets invested back into advisor support: Fora handles supplier invoicing and payment collection for advisors. When comparing Onyx payment data across over 150,000 hotels, we found that Fora collects payments about 25% faster than industry benchmarks, and with one-third fewer commissions left unpaid.

Partner rates

WorldVia accesses preferred supplier programs through Travel Leaders Network’s (TLN) Presidents Circle. That gives advisors negotiated rates on cruise lines, tour operators, and resorts in TLN’s network.

Fora offers partner programs through Fora Reserve, Virtuoso membership, and relationships with major cruise lines, providing a higher average base commission than the industry-standard 5–10%.

For example, if you book an itinerary with a commissionable value of $2,500:

  • With 12% commission: ($2,500 x 12%) x 70% split = $210 take home

  • With 10% commission: ($2,500 x 10%) x 70% split = $175 take home

Portal having multiple avenues to book all in one location, where you can compare everything [...] My overall commission has increased, just because I’m able to be more strategic.

Platform and technology

If you want one integrated place to run your business, Fora’s setup is more cohesive. WorldVia spreads tools across multiple products, and provides direct global distribution system (GDS) access to certain advisors for air or corporate bookings.

WorldVia offers multiple products that work together: TRIO for booking, AIVIA for AI assistance, a proprietary CRM, a cruise booking tool, an air booking tool, and a member hub, among others. Qualified advisors with over two years of GDS experience can also access Sabre for an additional cost: $9–$129 per person per month ($108–$1,528 per year), plus a one-time $59 user activation fee (up to two people, then $29 per person) and per-transaction fees ranging from $1–$20 each.

Fora’s Portal is a one-stop platform for booking, client management, and automated tooling across hotels, cruises, groups, tours, and more. Fora’s Portal includes:

  • Hotel search with real-time availability

  • Client profiles with connected inquiry forms

  • Commission tracking with invoicing handled by Fora

  • Price Drop alerts that flag savings opportunities for your clients

  • Bookable Quote for clients to review and confirm directly

  • Deal and rate tracking across booking options

  • Itinerary builder to share proposals with clients

  • Marketing templates and assets

  • Live support and ongoing training

GDS power Fora in the background, though advisors don’t get direct access. Fora Advisors use an in-house flights tool and group booking tools like Cvent to make air or group bookings.

I think [Fora] truly eliminates the need for any other software programs.

Training and support

Fora is the stronger choice for straightforward access to training and mentorship. Both host agencies offer self-paced training, live sessions, and in-person events. But at WorldVia, Foundations training and coaching are only available on Growth plans or higher, whereas Fora includes everything in the flat fee.

Preferred partnerships and supplier access

If you plan to focus on luxury hotels or want Virtuoso access from day one, Fora is the stronger fit. If your client base is cruise-heavy or you primarily book commercial resorts, both host agencies will serve you.

WorldVia accesses preferred supplier programs through Travel Leaders Network as a Presidents Circle agency. That network covers cruise lines, tour operators, and major resorts well, with negotiated rates and marketing programs available across the TLN supplier base. WorldVia is also a CLIA Premier Agency Member.

Fora helps advisors secure perks for their clients with Fora Reserve, which includes over 5,000 preferred partnerships. Preferred partnerships include Four Seasons Preferred, Marriott Stars & Luminous, Mandarin Oriental, and IHG, as well as boutique properties, tours, and cruises. Fora is also a Virtuoso member and CLIA Premier Agency Member.

The fact that we are in all of these programs shows that the partners trust us with their brand and their property.

Business support

Both Fora and WorldVia handle some of the business infrastructure for you, so you can focus on building your brand and client list. Notably, WorldVia only accepts United States-based advisors, while Fora supports advisors in over 140 countries, including large advisor communities in Canada and Mexico.

  • Independent branding: Both Fora and WorldVia allow advisors to operate and market under their own brand identity.

  • Insurance: Fora advisors are covered by Fora’s errors & omissions (E&O) insurance. Fora recommends separate coverage if you operate under an LLC or book more than $500,000 annually. WorldVia provides E&O coverage and encourages advisors to carry supplemental coverage.

  • Seller of Travel requirements: Advisors at both host agencies can operate under their host’s Seller of Travel registration, though some states still require affiliated advisors to register.

  • Marketing: Both host agencies offer marketing materials, like social media assets and email templates. Fora includes a customizable landing page and blog content to support advisor brand-building. WorldVia includes a website builder and an email marketing tool, Email+.

Contract terms and flexibility

Both Fora and WorldVia offer industry standard contract terms. WorldVia operates on a month-to-month basis with a 30-day written notice for cancellation, and there are no early termination penalties. Fora’s contract is annual or quarterly with no cancellation penalty—you can cancel anytime. Fora’s contract is also exclusive, so you can’t affiliate with another host agency while working with Fora.

When reviewing terms with any host agency, confirm what happens to commissions and clients if you leave, notice periods for termination, and any other exit-related restrictions.

Fora vs. WorldVia: Who is each best for?

Choose WorldVia if you want the flexibility of multiple subscription tiers, you need direct Sabre access to book air or corporate travel, or the Team or Enterprise tier makes sense for your agency. Expect to upgrade your plan to access higher splits and pay more for Sabre use.

Choose Fora if you want a flat annual fee, luxury and Virtuoso partner access, and a single integrated platform. You’ll have commission tiers that reward higher booking volume, predictable costs, and no plan upgrades to manage. Agencies and teams can join with a customized agreement and onboarding.

Frequently asked questions

Can I work for both Fora and WorldVia at the same time?

No, you can’t be affiliated with Fora and WorldVia at the same time. Fora is an exclusive host agency, so you’d need a clean cutover date if you plan to switch.

How do I switch from WorldVia to Fora?

Give WorldVia the 30-day written notice their contract requires, set a final cutover date, and begin Fora’s onboarding so you can get Portal access, training, and supplier credentials as soon as possible. Fora can answer questions about timing before you give notice.

Is Fora or WorldVia cheaper?

It depends on which WorldVia plan you compare. WorldVia’s Individual plan ($207 in year one) is cheaper than Fora ($299–$396), but it caps your commission split at 70/30. WorldVia’s Growth plan ($447 year one) has a 90/10 split, but costs more than Fora. Fora doesn’t gate splits behind subscription tiers.

Is Fora or WorldVia better for new travel advisors?

Fora is generally a better fit for new travel advisors: 97% of Fora advisors had never been travel advisors before joining. New advisors get full platform access, 700+ hours of training, live sessions, and Fora Reserve partnerships at the same flat fee as everyone else. WorldVia's Foundations 12-week program is good for new advisors, but you need to be on a Growth plan or higher to access it.

Is Fora or WorldVia better for luxury travel advisors?

Fora is the stronger fit for luxury. Fora is a Virtuoso member, and Fora Reserve includes Four Seasons Preferred Partner, Marriott Stars & Luminous, Mandarin Oriental, IHG, and boutique hotel preferred partnerships. WorldVia accesses luxury suppliers through Travel Leaders Network, which has its own supplier programs but isn’t a luxury-first consortium like Virtuoso.

Is Fora or WorldVia better for corporate or air-heavy advisors?

WorldVia is the better fit if your business depends on Sabre access for bookings. WorldVia offers Sabre access for advisors with over two years of GDS experience. Fora does not currently offer Sabre access, but does have a flights tool and group booking support.

Are Fora and WorldVia legitimate host agencies?

Yes. Fora is a CLIA Premier Agency Member, a Virtuoso member, and partners with more than 5,000 suppliers through Fora Reserve. Fora Advisors have booked over $3 billion in travel since 2021 and work from 140 different countries. The WorldVia Travel Network has operated since 1998 and has a network of over 6,000 advisors. WorldVia is also a member of the Travel Leaders Network consortium and a CLIA Premier Agency Member.
