Things to do in London

Buckingham Palace, the iconic London residence of the British monarch.

Immerse yourself in London’s history by visiting iconic landmarks like The Tower of London, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. Walking along the Thames river will give you an amazing view and some great photo opportunities. Take a stroll across Tower Bridge to get a breathtaking view of the city skyline and stop by Globe Theatre, a reconstruction of Shakespeare’s original theater.

Don’t miss the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. Marvel in the beauty of this stately, historic building and then head nearby for a picnic or a stroll through the serene views of Hyde Park or Green Park.

Wander through the many markets of London:

Borough Market

A food lovers paradise, with an array of gourmet treats. Artisanal cheeses, fresh baked goods, paella and scotch eggs will tide you over until dinner.

Camden Market

Offer unique crafts, vintage fashion and delicious street food while you enjoy live music along Regent’s Canal.

Portobello Road Market

London’s oldest market; you'll discover vintage treasures, quirky collectibles and bookshops and cafes as you make your way through Notting Hill's charming streets.

Travel Tip: Be sure to check out the market times as most close by 5pm and some are not open on Sundays.

If you’re looking for a more unique view of the city, take a ride on the London Eye, the world’s largest observation wheel or Sky Garden, the capital’s highest public garden featuring two bars and restaurants.

Travel Tip – Sky Garden is free of charge on weekdays and weekends during specific times.

If you’re a musical theater lover, head over to West End to catch a spectacular performance. If you’re hungry, West End also has some delicious pre-theatre restaurants for an appetizer and drink before the show.

Day trips

Be sure to plan a day trip outside of London. Both Highclere Castle and Warner Bros. Studios offer captivating experiences, transporting you to worlds of 1920’s elegance or Hogwarts wizardry. Both are fairly short train rides from downtown London, each giving nostalgia and adventure.

If you’re a Downton Abbey fan, then Highclere Castle is a dream to see in real life. Explore the opulent rooms, elegant gardens and pack a picnic to enjoy lunch on the estate.

If you’d rather be exploring Potions Class at Hogwarts, then the The Leavesdon Warner Bros. Studio Tour will keep you captivated for hours. This self-guided tour through complete sets, wardrobe and props from the movies is on every Potterheads bucket list and should not be missed. Both are truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Travel Tip: Plan your day trip in advance, buying train and tour tickets beforehand so you can have a stress-free day.

Places to eat & drink in London

The Churchill Arms in Kensington is a beloved and unique London pub, known for its charming floral exterior and excellent traditional British food.
  • Borough Market is the perfect spot for a mid-morning snack.

  • Explore the atmosphere of Covent Garden and savor some delicious cuisine at the diverse range of restaurants and cafés.

  • Grab a bubble tea or some authentic steamed dumplings in China Town.

  • Step back in time at the flower-adorned Churchill Arms or enjoy a Sunday roast at Trafalgar Tavern.

  • Plan a romantic dinner at one of the many Gordon Ramsey restaurants scattered around the city.

  • Don't miss out on Brick Lane, renowned for its vibrant, global street food.
