Things to do in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina

Sunset cruise

Walk the Loop: The 2.38-mile loop around the middle of the town is great for walking or running, with beautiful views everywhere you look.

Boat ride to Masonboro: If you like to surf, have a bit of solitude, and be present in untouched nature, a boat ride to Masonboro is a must.

Swim in the sea: Because of Wrightsville’s location on the nearby Cape Fear River, it has crystal clear water, unlike the neighboring beaches. If it feels a bit too rough to swim in the ocean, no worries±just step on over to the sound side and have a nice calm swim at high tide.

Grab a matcha or coffee at a local shop: There are so many wonderful coffee shops on the island. My top three favorites are Bevvy Mart, Sundays, and Adapt.

Look for shark teeth: Over all the years of dredging projects, it somehow has made Wrightsvill a feeding ground for finding the most magnificent shark teeth. The best places to look are on the North End of the island.

Sunset dinner and drinks: There are restaurants scattered around the island, each with their own unique aesthetic. Whether you want a dive bar atmosphere or fine dining, there are plenty of options for you to enjoy.

Farmers market: Every Monday, beginning in May, the farmers market begins in the park. A great selection of local produce and artisan products can be found here.

Places to eat & drink in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina

La Duna Paradiso

Bevvy Mart: A coffee shop with a convenience store for everything you need. A great selection of interesting and healthy products.

La Duna Paradiso: Restaurant and bar located in the Trailborn Surf & Sound hotel. Instantly be transported to a seaside Italian town vibe with the food, vibes, and Slim Aarons-esque aesthetic.

Neptunes: Come here for brunch on a Sunday morning and get the sweet potato biscuit.

Tower 7: The ultimate place on the island to have chips and salsa matched with a refreshing margarita.

Bridgetender: Fine dining with exquisite cuisine and service. Sit outside and watch the boats go by. And save room for dessert!

Sundays: The only coffee shop in town with ocean views and great drink deals every day of the week, including $3 margaritas on Mondays.

Dockside: Come here for a sunset drink on the upper deck with an engaging atmosphere.

Solstice: Located inside the Lumina Holiday Inn, this restaurant has high-quality dishes mixed with a beautiful view.

Oceanic: Sit at the pier bar with a drink and the crab dip. Feel the ocean breeze and take in all the action at the South End.

Need to know

The summertime—of course, like all beaches—is extremely busy. If driving to the beach, especially on a weekend, you will want to be here as early as possible, or else you may be stuck searching for a parking spot all day instead of sitting on the beach. The best time of year is late August to mid-October (besides the chance of a hurricane) because of the non-existent crowds and the warm air and water temperatures. Wrightsville Beach has so much beauty and charm—I look forward to helping you have the best holiday here.
