Advisor - Beach-Heavy and Laid-Back: Charleston, SC
Curator’s statement

If you're craving a beach-heavy laid back kind of vibe, look no further than Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston has some of the most relaxed coastal vibes on the East Coast, with barrier islands that offer a mix of chill beach scenes, nature and small-town vibes. The beauty is that you can base yourself in or near downtown Charleston for historic vibes and dining and then spend your days soaking up the sun. Throw in some local seafood, slow walks under the swaying palm trees and sunset views, and you've got the perfect low-key romantic escape.

Where to stay

Unlock perks by contacting Hannah to book your trip.

Day 1: Arrival & Folly Beach

Morning: Arrive in Charleston, drop your bags at your stay (some laid-back recs: Tides Folly Beach or a cozy Airbnb near the coast). Grab a smoothie or light brunch at Lost Dog Café (Folly Beach staple).

Afternoon: Folly Beach time! Rent bikes or just chill oceanside with your toes in the sand. Check out the Folly Beach Pier and maybe toss a fishing line.
Optional: Paddleboarding or kayaking on Folly River (great for spotting dolphins).

Evening: Sunset drinks at Rita’s Seaside Grille or the rooftop at Pier 101.
Walk the beach under the stars, maybe even bring a blanket for a little stargazing picnic.

Day 2: Sullivan’s Island & Beach town exploring

Morning: Head to Sullivan’s Island (less touristy, super chill). Grab breakfast from The Co-Op (famous for rosé and breakfast sandwiches).

Afternoon: Hit the beach with a cooler and a good book. Walk to Fort Moultrie for some light history and breezy ocean views. Late lunch at Home Team BBQ or Poe’s Tavern (iconic for burgers & beer).

Evening: Head back to your stay, freshen up, then relax with a mellow dinner in downtown Charleston at Fleet Landing (waterfront and casual).
Optional: Take a peaceful stroll along The Battery or swing under the trees at White Point Garden.

Day 3: Island time & chill farewell

Morning: Drive to Isle of Palms. Grab coffee and a breakfast sandwich at Sea Biscuit Café. Rent a beach chair/umbrella and soak up the morning sun — this is your recharge time.

Afternoon: Walk along the beach, maybe hit up a beach bar like The Windjammer for lunch and live music.
Optional: Spa treatment or massage at Wild Dunes Resort before heading out.

Evening (if you have time): One last sunset at Waterfront Park or back to Folly Beach for final ocean vibes. Grab something easy like tacos from Taco Boy (Folly or downtown).
