Curator’s statement
My wife and I love the magical atmosphere that surrounds Walt Disney World. From the character meet-and-greets to the firework spectaculars at the parks, it is an amazing experience. Make your fun-filled, magical park day even more special by staying at a Walt Disney World Resort—they offer everything from shopping and eating to the chance to explore all the other resorts on Disney property.

Things to do at Walt Disney World

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2022
We love to meet the characters in the parks and have our photos taken with them and have a chance to interact with them.
Breakfast at Ohana in the Polynesian Resort is my favorite character dining experience, from hanging out with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto to the all-you-can-eat family-style breakfast.
Exploring all the different themed resorts is another favorite.
The smell of Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Magic Kingdom really immerses you into the experience, making you feel like you are actually in the movie while on the ride.
My favorite thing to do is to watch the fireworks spectacular at Magic Kingdom each night we are in the park. From the music and projections filling the castle and Main Street USA to the fireworks lighting up the sky and Tinker Bell flying from the castle to Tomorrowland, it makes me cry every time from being overwhelmed by the magic Walt Disney World has to offer.
Places to eat & drink at Walt Disney World

Mickey waffles provide plenty of energy for the day ahead.
D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs offers a variety of specialty burgers. Be sure to try the BBQ Burger (double cheeseburger topped with a fried onion ring, Muenster cheese, bacon, lettuce, and barbecue sauce).
The Grand Floridian Cafe is a staple any time I go. Be sure to try their fried chicken entrée (hand-breaded chicken breast with "loaded" smashed potatoes and warmed bacon vinaigrette).
If you are traveling with kids, note that my wife enjoys the kids' menu anywhere we go and finds them very filling. For an easy on-the-go item in Magic Kingdom, be sure to try Casey's Corner for hot dogs and corndog nuggets as you stroll down Main Street USA.
City Works in Disney Springs is a great idea for a night out on your trip. They have plenty of shareables, ribs, burgers, and popcorn chicken.
There is plenty of variety to go around. Need a breakfast before you get on the bus, monorail, or Skyliner to head to the park for the day? Go to the food court at your resort and order the Mickey Waffle breakfast platter—it has plenty to keep you fueled until lunchtime.
Need to know
Be sure to drink plenty of water while you are exploring the parks at Disney. Soak up every single moment and memory that you are making in the Most Magical Place on Earth.
Sunscreen is a must for the parks, so be sure to pack that.
When shopping in most gift shops on property, you can use the mobile checkout where you scan as you go to avoid the long lines at checkout—it makes it so much easier.
