Things to do in Florence

  • Take a walk across the famous Ponte Vecchio. The oldest bridge in Florence, not only does it have pretty views but it also is home to famous jewellers and gold smiths.

  • Reserve a few hours to be transported back in time at the Uffizi Gallery. One of the most famous art galleries in the world, home to some of the most outstanding pieces of artwork, such as ‘the Birth of Venus’.

  • Later in the day, at sunset, take a walk or taxi up to Piazzale Michelangelo. The most famous and iconic view overlooking the city of Florence. Take a bottle of wine or whatever you like and enjoy the sunset along with some local musicians playing some classics.

Places to eat & drink in Florence

  • Lo Scudo Restaurant located right next to the duomo in the centre of Florence. A small restaurant specialising in Florentine bistecca (steak), run by a group of friends with amazing ambiance.

  • Cafe gilli the oldest cafe in Florence, known for its famous Negroni and timeless charm.

  • Gelateria La Carraia, located across ponte vecchio. Serving up some of the best gelato! You will often find a line out the door most nights in the summer however it is worth the wait!

  • Il santo bevitore, serving some classic Tuscan dishes with a creative flare in a cozy space.

  • Vivoli is a cozy spot for classic Italian desserts and artisan gelato, known for their affogato.

  • La terrazza rooftop bar on top of the Continentale hotel is a nice spot overlooking ponte vecchio for some aperitivo and sunset drinks.

  • Divina Terrazza Rooftop bar, located right next to the famous duomo, giving you a gorgeous view while drinking some cocktails before dinner.

  • Cibreo Cafe is a Florentine classic serving up delicious food all day long.
