Advisor - Wisconsin Dells: "The Waterpark Capital of the World"
Curator’s statement

For the ultimate family adventure, head to Wisconsin Dells, where you can spend the day swimming in pools and riding down the highest water slide at Mt. Olympus. When you're not spending time in the water, there are other family memories that you can create by visiting the Wisconsin Deer Park or going to the Lost Temple Adventure. Don't forget to find your favorite spot to buy sweets, like Goody Goody Gum Drops, which is celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2025.

Things to do in Wisconsin Dells

  • My family's favorite place in the Dells is Mt. Olympus, not only for the water park, but also the amusement park. You can ride the wooden rollercoaster, drive go-karts, or soar over the park on Apollo’s Swing.

  • Shop for souvenirs for yourself and your family. My favorite shop is The Pickled Cowboy Western Store—you can smell the leather as you are walking toward the store.

  • Take a family photo at Capones Old Time Picture, where you can dress like you're from the 1800s.

  • Stop and buy some chocolate at the Swiss Maid Fudge. My all-time favorite is the turtle fudge brownie.

  • Play a round of mini golf at Pirate Cove Adventures.

  • Too hot to walk? Beat the heat by renting a golf cart to get around the busy streets.

  • Take a tour with the Original Wisconsin Ducks. From land to water there is so much to see. There are discount ticket stands all through out the Dells.

Places to eat & drink in Wisconsin Dells

  • Moosejaw Pizza & Dells Brewing Co: This place was packed on a Friday night. We decided to pick up our food and take it back to our hotel. The food was hot and they supplied paper plates, napkins, and forks and knives. The service was outstanding. The whole family enjoyed a large thin-crust pizza with extra cheese, sausage, and mushrooms, plus appetizer nachos with nacho cheese, pork, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. We still can't stop talking about how great this food was.

  • Mexicali Rose: We ordered smothered chicken burritos with rice and beans. I also got a margarita.

  • Culver's: Our go-to fast food spot. We order butter burgers, crispy fries, and cold beverages. They also have vanilla and chocolate custard, create-your-own sundaes, and concrete malts.

Need to know

I like to walk and leave my car at the hotel. Beware of the traffic. Crosswalks are recommended. I travel with my small dog and I had her on a leash, but I used a doggy stroller crossing the busy intersection and parking lots. I do travel with a disabled person who needs to use a wheelchair. There are a lot of hills so he did have to use his electric scooter.
