Beautiful view of a cliff in Negril.
Curator’s statement

Negril, Jamaica is a perfect destination to get away from the hustle and bustle, but still feel like you are experiencing something to write home about. It cannot get any more local than this. Negril is on the Western most of Jamaica (cue the sunsets!) and home to Jamaican Jerk (well, everywhere is!), Jamaican cliff divers, Rick’s Cafe, intimate, boutique resorts, and breathtaking views of the crystal-clear Caribbean waters everywhere you go. If you’re looking for a little adventure, a little wellness, a little culture and a little solitude, honestly, don’t look further than Negril. Only 1.5 hours from Montego Bay, you’ll give yourself a little of this and that and come home feeling refreshed and anew! P.S. Don’t forget to pack your snorkel!

Things to do in Negril, Jamaica

Zimbali’s farm to table cooking show, a unique experience.

Cliff-jumping! Seriously, you can do it. There’s no beach here (unless you are at Seven Mile Beach), just amazing cliffs that once you jump, the salty sea will suspend you in a forever float.

For those missing the sand, head over to Seven Mile Beach to enjoy the waves, people-watching and beach walks.

Head to Zimbali Retreats for a little nature and culture for cooking classes, farm tours and more.

Book a Catamaran cruise - party or not - to see the area from the water perspective.

Allow yourself to sleep in, move slowly, spend all afternoon in the sea snorkeling, swimming and floating. Why not take a yoga class, watch the sunset, book a massage and just enjoy the resort.

Day trips

For any day trips, your go-to is Island Routes. They have the experiences down pat, from local cultural experiences to more party-catamaran-centric touring. Whatever your jam may be, Island Routes will show you the best of times!

Places to eat & drink in Negril, Jamaica

Perfect ambience and view at Ivan´s Restaurant & Bar.

  • Kool Vybes (right across the street from Tensing Pen)

  • Shark (right across the street from Tensing Pen)

Note: you can also partake in a Gardens and Greenhouse Tour on the property!

Remember, you are in the heart of Blue Mountains coffee territory! So enjoy the coffee wherever you go.

And for those that want a bit of nightlife, it’s the legendary Rick’s Cafe! And further afield, The Jungle Nightclub on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The West End is about a 10-minute drive (tops!) from Seven Mile Beach. Miss Lily’s is the best spot to hang out and dine at, but of course, you have a stretch of other sand-in-your-toes beachside restaurants for you to try!
