Things to do

A lively medieval-themed performance with actors in costumes entertaining an audience at a dinner show.

We took our nine-year-old daughter to Las Vegas in the Summer. To surprise her, I arranged for a limousine to greet us at the airport. As we landed in Las Vegas, a chauffeur awaited us, holding a sign bearing our name. Witnessing my daughter's joyous reaction to this surprise was priceless as we embarked on a luxurious limo ride to our hotel. The driver explained us some highlights during our trip, offered us water and even a bottle of champagne so me and my husband could enjoy. My daughter was ecstatic.

Las Vegas Strip attractions for kids:

We visited the four-level M&M's store located in the Showcase Mall. My daughter eagerly selected all the pink shades of M&M's available, and we had a great time capturing moments, even posing with a replica of Kyle Busch's 18 M&M's-sponsored NASCAR.

While you visit the M&M’s store, you can walk approximately six minutes to the Hershey’s Chocolate World which is very close to the New York hotel. Make sure to visit their website as they have product giveaways only at that location.

If you and your kids are adventurous, make sure to go to the New York hotel and ride the Big Apple Coaster and have fun at the Big Apple Arcade which is one of the largest arcades on the Las Vegas Strip–at 32,000 square feet.

Another great arcade is located on the lower level of the Excalibur hotel, a medieval castle where your kids can spend many hours at the Fun Dungeon.

One of our favorite experiences was attending the "Tournament of Kings" show at the Excalibur. It's a family-friendly dinner attraction based on the tale of King Arthur. In this live-action production set in a 900-seat theater-in-the-round arena, guests are immersed in a thrilling tale of valor and treachery. As knights battle, guests enjoy a hearty meal with their hands, adding to the interactive charm of the show. It's an unforgettable experience for families. My daughter couldn’t believe she was allowed to eat with her hands only.

As we strolled along the Strip, my daughter marveled at every hotel we passed. Our top choices for accommodation are the Bellagio and the Cosmopolitan.

Additionally, we found The Monorail to be a convenient way to reach more distant hotels with ease.

If you are a Hello Kitty fan, make sure to visit any of their locations in Las Vegas, at The Park MGM or in the Fashion Show Las Vegas.

Other things to do with kids in Las Vegas:

  • Enjoy a Cirque du Soleil show, there are many options to choose from. My favorite is “O” at the Bellagio.

  • Visit The Sphere (one of the newest attractions) opened in September 2023. Here you interact and chat with robots and experience a 50-minute multi-sensory film in the World’s largest hi-def screen.

  • Experience the High Roller observation wheel, towering 550 feet above the Las Vegas Strip. As the largest observation wheel in North America, it offers panoramic 360-degree views of the vibrant cityscape. Each revolution takes 30 minutes, providing ample time to soak in the sights. With 28 spacious cabins, guests can enjoy the journey in comfort and style.
