Things to do in Istanbul

Egyptian Bazaar (Spice Bazaar): A sensory overload in the best way, the Egyptian Bazaar is the place to go for fragrant spices, Turkish delights, dried fruits and artisanal teas. It’s smaller and more navigable than the Grand Bazaar, but equally rich in local color.
Antique Bazaar (İstanbul Antikacılar Çarşısı): Tucked away in the heart of the Grand Bazaar complex, this lesser-known section is a haven for antique lovers. Look for Ottoman-era rings, filigree silver bracelets and vintage evil eye pendants among the treasures.
Grand Bazaar: One of the world’s oldest and largest covered markets, the Grand Bazaar is a labyrinth of over 4,000 shops selling everything from handwoven carpets and mosaic lamps to gold jewelry and ceramics. Bargaining is expected, and half the fun.
Atelier Rebul: A chic apothecary brand that’s been around since 1895, Atelier Rebul combines French pharmaceutical heritage with Turkish botanicals. Their signature fragrances, candles and skin care products make for elegant souvenirs.
Çukurcuma (Cihangir/Çukurcuma): This bohemian neighborhood is Istanbul’s answer to Paris’ Marais: full of charm, winding streets and eclectic antique shops. You’ll find everything from vintage rugs and Ottoman furniture to quirky objets d’art and old photographs.
