My Story
My relationship with France started at 18, when I forged my parents' signature on a form to study abroad in Toulon. That decision changed everything.
Today I live in a 17m² apartment in Paris—by choice, by design, and because my cardiologist insisted I stop working 80-hour weeks at Nintendo and actually live. I traded a corporate salary for a monthly Navigo pass, a farmers market habit, and the slow pleasure of knowing which boulangerie makes the best "tradition" baguette in my arrondissement.
I focus primarily on helping anglophones who are seriously considering France—whether scouting Paris neighborhoods for the right fit, planning full-week or full-month stays across multiple French cities, or weighing retirement options in different parts of the country—navigate the decision through my Zen to Live framework. I've written several Zen traveler's guides for Fora, and I know Paris and the Loire Valley at the neighborhood level, not the guidebook level.
For the past two decades, I’ve also spent winters in Bali—since 2005, returning annually to practice yoga, eat well, and watch Ubud transform from a quiet village into a world-class wellness destination. After 21 visits, I know where the wellness world went next: the jungle lodges and cliffside villas of West Bali that most advisors have never heard of, let alone stayed in.
I book both—and bring the same neighborhood-level depth to each.
I’ve also written Fora guides for Amsterdam and Lisbon for travelers drawn to walkable, wellness-forward European cities.
Travel Style
I specialize in two things: helping anglophones find out whether France is the right place to build their next chapter—and designing restorative escapes in Bali for those who want to disappear into something quieter first.
For scouting trips and relocation research in France, I offer accommodation bookings and Fora activity partner experiences on a commission-free basis. My value isn’t the booking—it’s knowing which neighborhood actually fits your daily life, which arrondissement passes the 20-minute walkability test, and where to find the kind of calm that makes a city feel like home.
My lens for every destination is the Zen to Live framework: Restore (spas, healing therapies), Nature (parks, gardens, green space), Nourish (markets, organic food, artisanal coffee and chocolate), Sacred (contemplative spaces, quiet interiors), and Move (yoga, walking, cycling culture).
For Bali, I bring nearly 20 years of on-the-ground experience—I know Ubud, Sanur, and West Bali the way I know Paris: at the neighborhood level, through the lens of wellness, slow living, and genuine restoration.
If you're ready to stop visiting France and start belonging here, I'm your Sherpa.

Michael created a beautiful proposal to help me decide between The Prestige and another hotel in Georgetown Penang Malaysia as i wasn’t sure which to select. By showing me that The Prestige had many FORA perks Michael made it easy to select this property. The itinerary of activities for the weekend that he added after booking the room was also helpful in deciding what to do. The room upgrade, the handwritten note from the general manager, amenities on arrival, RM 50 voucher for the wine bar or restaurant, the free mini bar, etc made me to decide to work with Michael from now on.

The Zen Traveler’s Guide to Gardens in Paris: A Curated Map of Calm Across All 20 Arrondissements
In a city as dense, historic, and stimulating as Paris, green space is not a luxury—it’s a regulation tool. This guide is shaped by my daily life here: walking the neighborhoods, noticing where the light falls, which benches stay shaded, and where calm can still be found in every arrondissement. These gardens are not detours from Paris—they are part of how I move through it. Choose one intentionally or simply find the nearest green square to your hotel and enjoy a buttery croissant under the trees.

The Zen Traveler’s Guide to Lisbon
Lisbon is a city of light, hills, and ocean air—and it rewards travelers who move gently through it. More than in many destinations, curation matters more than volume here. The city’s beauty is immediate, but its terrain and heat can be physically demanding if you try to do too much. This guide is designed to help you experience Lisbon with presence rather than exhaustion: restoring the body in the afternoon, seeking green refuge during the warmest hours, and choosing calm, nourishing experiences over constant movement. When approached slowly, Lisbon reveals itself as deeply soothing, expansive, and grounding.

The Zen Traveler’s Guide to Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a city that naturally supports a slower, more grounded way of traveling. Its flat streets, human scale, and ever-present water invite you to walk, pause, and observe rather than rush from one highlight to the next. I created this guide for travelers who want to experience Amsterdam with clarity and ease. Each recommendation is chosen for how it supports calm movement, thoughtful nourishment, and moments of quiet restoration throughout the day. Instead of overplanning, the emphasis is on rhythm—gentle mornings, spacious afternoons, and evenings that feel intentional rather than full. This guide is less about seeing everything and more about feeling oriented and present in the city. When you travel this way, Amsterdam reveals itself slowly, generously, and with surprising depth.

The Zen Traveler’s Guide to Paris for Seniors
Paris is exceptionally rewarding later in life when experienced with clarity, comfort, and rhythm rather than speed. I recommend basing yourself in Saint‑Germain‑des‑Prés, near the Jardin du Luxembourg, because it offers something rare in Paris: flat streets, a sense of safety and elegance, excellent transportation options, and a dense concentration of calm, cultural, and wellness-oriented experiences within short walking distance. This guide is designed for senior travelers who want to enjoy Paris slowly—with beautiful walks, gardens, slower-paced museums, classical music, iconic cafés, and restorative pauses—while returning easily to a comfortable hotel whenever needed. Everything here is selected to reduce strain and increase pleasure.

The Zen Traveler's Guide to Paris
Paris is known for its grand boulevards, museums, and café culture, but the city reveals a softer, more contemplative side when you slow down. As a Zen traveler, I seek places that restore balance—yoga studios, intimate spas, gardens, meditative churches, specialty cafés, and walking paths that invite intention. Living between Paris and Asia taught me that wellness is not pursued but practiced daily, even in a bustling capital. This guide gathers my favorite restorative, nourishing, sacred, nature-filled, and movement-based experiences, inviting you to explore Paris as a sanctuary of presence.

Inside My Favorite Jungle Hideaway: Alila Ubud by Hyatt
My recent stay at Alila Ubud by Hyatt was a return to the peaceful nourishment I crave when Ubud’s center becomes too crowded and full of motion. Each year, I spend extended time in Bali immersing myself in the yoga havens of Alchemy and Yoga Barn, but it’s here—perched above the Ayung River valley—where I truly exhale. The hush of the jungle, the rhythm of my personal early-morning yoga and meditation practice beside the infinity pool, and the luxury of doing nothing remind me why this part of the island will always feel like a sacred pause. I reconnect with what originally drew me to Bali—simplicity, balance, and the beauty of slowing down.

A Mindful Wellness Escape of Zen & Indulgence in Paris: 3 Days in the 9th
Paris isn’t just about museums and shopping. The 9th arrondissement offers a mindful side of the city with yoga studios, spas, specialty coffee, and artisanal chocolate, along with wine bars and other foodie experiences that are off-the-beaten track for seasoned Paris visitors looking for a fresh vibe. As a regular yoga practitioner, spa junkie, and people-watcher, the 9th is one of my favorites. This itinerary is the one I share with Paris visitors who are seeking a calm, less touristy neighborhood with an eye on wellness and fine-dining options that are mostly appreciated only by locals. Here’s how to spend three days soaking up a Zen-inspired Parisian escape and discovering hidden gems in the 9th.

Coffee, Croissants, & Chocolate: Perfection in Paris’ 9th Arrondissement
Wedged between Montmartre’s Sacré-Cœur and the Louvre’s grand boulevards, the 9th arrondissement is often overlooked. But those who know Paris well recognize it as a foodie paradise. This neighborhood is where locals sneak away for bold flavors, inventive bakers, and chocolatiers who take their craft seriously. Like learning the ABCs, I’ve made it a mission to explore the “3 C’s”—coffee, croissants, and chocolate—in every arrondissement. As a Paris-based street photographer, I try to capture the vibe of each place through images. Here I’ll share my favorites so you can taste the 9th like a local.
