Juno: Arguably the most famous bakery in Copenhagen and for good reason. There wasn’t a single pastry that wasn't a 10/10 here. They sell the famous breakfast sandwiches that consist of Danish cheese and butter on a sourdough sesame roll, as well as cardamom buns and butter cookies.

Apotek 57: This bakery is built in an old pharmacy, now turned into a bakery. It has gorgeous croissants in unique shapes and flavors such as domes with miso caramel, or egg pastries.

Apollo Bar: This space is outside of a museum and art exhibition and is great for a traditional Danish breakfast of sourdough, two soft boiled eggs, Danish cheese slices, butter, salt, and jam. Sit outside or inside if it's chilly and enjoy the ambiance. Their banana bread with banana slices on top is decadent as well.

Atelier September: Another famous breakfast and bakery spot. I’d get here early to avoid lines, but the food is worth the wait. Their avocado toast on traditional seeded sourdough (rugbrød) is an excellent choice, followed by their sourdough and butter that can be ordered à la carte.

Lille Bakery: Go for their chewy sourdough loaves, a custard-filled Berliner, or one of their flaky morning buns—simple classics done to perfection. The vibe is bright, communal, and laid-back, set in a sunlit industrial space on Refshaleøen. It’s the perfect spot to linger over pastries and a cup of coffee.

Need to know
If you have some extra time, some other standouts include:
Hart Bageri: A cult-favorite for sourdough and innovative pastries, Hart is where Copenhagen’s modern baking scene truly shines.
La Cabra: Known for its world-class coffee and Scandinavian-style pastries like cardamom buns. They sell out early most days!
Andersen Bakery: A Japanese-Danish bakery blending traditions, offering delicate pastries and breads that are as beautiful as they are delicious.
Andersen & Maillard: Come for the cube croissants and cruffins, stay for the expertly roasted coffee in a stylish, buzzy setting.
