Need to know
Grenada is easily accessible via Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND), with direct flights from several major US cities. The best time to visit is December through April for sunny, dry weather, though late spring and early fall can offer fewer crowds and excellent value.
The Eastern Caribbean dollar (XCD) is the official currency, but US dollars are widely accepted.
If you’re looking for vibrant culture and celebration, plan your trip around Spicemas, Grenada’s annual Carnival held in August. It’s one of the Caribbean’s most energetic festivals, featuring colorful costumes, Soca music, street parades, and unforgettable island pride.
While Grenada feels relaxed and easygoing, I always recommend arranging airport transfers and dining reservations in advance, especially during peak season. Renting a car is helpful if you’d like to explore waterfalls, hidden beaches, and local villages at your own pace.
Most importantly, take time to experience the culture—from spice markets to local festivals—because Grenada’s charm is in its authenticity.
