Curator’s statement
Costa Navarino is one of the easiest ways to experience the best of what Greece has to offer without spending your whole trip in transit. Instead of moving between islands, everything is centered around four distinct resorts along the same stretch of coastline, each offering a different experience but designed to work together. What makes it stand out is how much is built into the destination, from world-class golf and tennis to professional sports academies, along with beaches and a wide range of dining. It’s a destination that works especially well for multi-generational families, couples, and groups who want something for everyone without overcomplicating the trip.

Things to do in Costa Navarino

This is what a “no plans” afternoon looks like at Costa Navarino.
Play golf across four signature courses
Costa Navarino is home to four 18-hole courses and is widely considered the best golf destination in Greece. Even if you don’t play, the setting alone makes it worth seeing.
Train at the Mouratoglou Tennis Center
One of the most impressive tennis facilities in Europe, with multiple courts, including the only grass court in Greece. Coaching is available for all levels, whether you’re playing casually or more seriously.
FC Bayern football camps
The resort hosts official FC Bayern Munich soccer training programs, which were a highlight of my kids’ trip. It’s especially appealing for families with kids and teens or anyone looking for a more active experience.
NBA Basketball School
A unique feature you don’t typically find at a resort destination. The on-site NBA Basketball School offers structured training programs and camps for both kids and adults.
Aqua Park at The Westin
The on-site water park is a major highlight, with multiple slides and pools that keep kids entertained for hours. It’s a big part of why this destination works so well for families without needing to plan much beyond the resort.
Spend time at Navarino Agora
Designed as an open-air village, the agora brings together dining, shopping, and entertainment in one central area. It’s one of the easiest places to spend an entire evening.
Visit Voidokilia Beach & nearby coves
Voidokilia is one of the most recognizable beaches in Greece, with its perfectly curved bay and calm, shallow water. Go early or later in the day for better light and fewer people, and consider exploring some of the quieter nearby coves as well.
Explore Gialova Lagoon
A protected wetland and one of the most important natural areas in the region. It offers a quieter contrast to the resorts and is ideal for walking or birdwatching.
Unwind at Anazoe Spa
One of the largest spas in the Mediterranean, offering treatments inspired by ancient Greek practices, including olive oil-based therapies.
Do nothing day between the beach & pools
Build in a day where you don’t plan anything and just move between the beach, pools, and long meals at your own pace. It’s one of the easiest ways to enjoy the destination, especially with a group where everyone wants something different.
Places to eat & drink in Costa Navarino

Dinner with a view at Costa Navarino
With so many dining options across the resorts, it’s easy to find something for every mood, whether you want a long dinner, something casual between activities, or a quick bite. These were some of my favorites:
Hotel breakfasts (especially at W Costa Navarino)
Breakfast here is genuinely a highlight and something I would plan time around. The W is set up like a modern Greek marketplace with multiple stations and made-to-order options, and the quality across the resorts is consistently high.
Barbouni (Navarino Dunes)
An iconic beachfront restaurant where you can linger over grilled fish, calamari, and wine with your toes almost in the sand. Relaxed, but still feels like a special night, especially at sunset.
Oliviera (Mandarin Oriental)
A refined take on Greek cuisine with a focus on local ingredients and views over Navarino Bay. Best for a quieter, more intentional dinner, especially at sunset.
Armyra by Papaioannou (Navarino Dunes)
Seafood with ultra-fresh fish and classic Greek flavors. A great choice for a date night while the kids are at the kids’ club.
Kafenio & Deli (Navarino Dunes)
A casual spot for mezze, coffee, and something easy between pool time and activities. Ideal when you don’t want a long, formal meal.
Ouzeri by Papaioannou (Navarino Agora)
A relaxed lunch spot for a more traditional Greek experience, with ouzo, grilled octopus, and simple mezze. Easy, familiar flavors in a laid-back setting.
Souvlakerie (Navarino Dunes)
A great casual option for souvlaki and gyros with a local feel. Perfect for a quick meal between activities.
Santorre (Navarino Agora)
Italian restaurant located in Navarino Agora, it’s a great option for dinner when you want something a little different from Greek cuisine. The setting and overall experience make it one I would go back to.
Flame (Navarino Dunes)
A classic steakhouse with a polished, upscale feel. A good option when you want a break from Greek cuisine and something more familiar for dinner.
Seafront tavernas in Gialova Village (off-property)
A short drive away, this waterfront strip is lined with tavernas serving grilled meats, fish, salads, and classic Greek dishes right on the harbor. Head here if you want to experience a Greek taverna outside the resort.
Need to know
Getting there
The easiest option is flying into Kalamata, which is about a 45-minute drive. You can also fly into Athens, but it’s about a three-hour drive, so Kalamata is worth prioritizing when possible.
Best time to visit
Late spring through early fall is ideal. June and September are especially good if you want warm weather without peak summer crowds.
Seasonality
Not everything is open year-round. Many restaurants and parts of the resort operate seasonally, so it’s worth checking ahead if you’re traveling early or late in the season.
Getting around the resort
The resorts are spread out across Navarino Dunes and Navarino Bay, but everything is easy to navigate with shuttles and short drives. You don’t need to plan logistics the way you would with island hopping.
Dining reservations
Book restaurants in advance, especially in peak season. The more popular spots and beachfront restaurants fill up quickly.
Pacing your trip
You don’t need to over-plan here. The destination is designed so you can mix activities, meals, and downtime without constantly being on the move.
Overall vibe
Costa Navarino is more relaxed than high-energy. Evenings are low-key and most places wind down earlier, which is part of the appeal for many travelers.
