We spent our wedding anniversary at this beautiful hotel. As someone that loves being close to the water, it doesn’t get much better than this! Their seafront bungalows and villas are literally steps from the sea. I have always loved Crete, and I am so glad I was able to experience this unique property for myself.

With hundreds of Greek islands to choose from, you know that incomparable views and delicious food are virtually guaranteed. But with the most famous landmarks often lost behind crowds from the mega-ships, a sense of calm and an authentic old way of life are less easy to find. Fortunately, there is now a generation of luxury small ships that can dock directly in smaller harbors, avoiding the tender boats required by larger vessels, or reaching ports like Patmos and Symi that are bypassed by the big cruise lines entirely.

Anguilla is a perfect Caribbean escape if you are looking for a friendly island with glorious beaches that has avoided heavy commercial development seen on other Caribbean islands. As a flat coral island, it’s home to some of the finest white-sand beaches anywhere. Yet the island’s “low-volume, high-value” tourism model protects a relaxed pace of life, and even the most popular spots never feel crowded. I love how Anguillans are justly proud of their island, its cuisine, boating heritage, but are still famously welcoming to visitors. Pair that real charm with the island’s high-quality resorts, and you get a luxury experience that means your first visit to Anguilla won’t be your last.

Oman is one of the most captivating and underrated destinations in the world. You’ll find a country rooted deeply in tradition yet welcoming and easy to travel, with untouched landscapes that feel worlds away from the glitz of nearby Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Think rugged canyons, ancient forts, oasis-filled wadis, white-sand beaches, and nights under star-blanketed desert skies. Combined with incredibly warm hospitality, safe roads, and exceptional hotels, Oman really is a dream destination for culture lovers, adventure seekers, and travelers wanting something truly different.

I love the Peloponnese for a lot of reasons—but most of all, it feels like a part of Greece that has yet to be fully discovered by the rest of the world. The Peloponnese is Greece at its most elemental and authentic. It is a landscape where myth and memory overlap in every olive grove and every curve of the coast. It’s where you can stand in a perfectly preserved ancient theater in the morning, swim in water so clear it looks lit from within by afternoon, and end the day in a medieval citadel watching the sun set behind stone towers and cypress trees. Unlike the islands, the Peloponnese feels lived-in rather than touristed: small vineyards, seaside villages, Byzantine fortresses, and a rhythm of life that invites you to slow down and stay a little longer. It’s a place for travelers who want depth, not checklist travel—and for those who find luxury not just in fine hotels, but in space, quiet, and connection.

I spent an amazing long weekend at Miraval in the Berkshires and fell in love with what feels like an elevated adults only "camp" where activities range from wellness-focused meditations and yoga to indulgent dinners at 1894 at the Wyndhurst Mansion. It is the perfect long weekend getaway for a solo trip to recharge, a couples trip to connect and relax, or a very fun friends' trip (girls, guys, both!).

If you've ever seen a total solar eclipse—or spoken to anyone who has—you know the first thing they'll tell you: Being in the path of totality is essential! If the sun is only 99 percent covered, you won't get the same experience. That last one percent silences the birds, turns day into night, and reveals the sun's dancing corona. For me, the spectacle is very moving and "totally" addictive.

As someone who craves truly unique experiences and loves adventure travel, the Pacuare Lodge was somewhere that felt like it would be my ideal escape. And it lived up to all my expectations, in the best way! This eco lodge is tucked deep in the heart of Costa Rica’s most pristine rainforest on the banks of the Pacuare River—you literally raft to it, which is amazing. It is set on 860 acres, and with just 20 villas and surrounded by nature, it is a haven of peace. I also love that Pacuare Lodge’s biggest priority is preserving the land, the culture, and the environment in this most special region.

Thessaloniki is Greece's second city, which means it is easy to reach thanks to its international airport, with flights connections across Europe. The city's dynamic energy contrasts beautifully with the tranquil beaches and picturesque villages of Chalkidiki. Together, they provide an ideal holiday for travelers seeking both cultural immersion and relaxation.

Crete holds a unique place in my heart. Its size means one trip is never really enough, and you are always left wanting to explore more (never a bad feeling, in my opinion!). Western Mallorca is one of my favorite places in the world. It has breathtaking landscapes, charming villages and a rich cultural heritage. The rugged Serra de Tramuntana mountains provide a dramatic backdrop, as well as incredible hiking for those that want to ramble. Picturesque towns like Deià, Valldemossa, and Sóller add to the region's charm. I especially love the serene beaches, hidden coves and crystal-clear waters. It is a haven for those seeking natural beauty and tranquility. The area's traditional Mediterranean culture, delicious local food and artistic history make it an essential destination for anyone looking to experience the authentic side of Mallorca.

What makes the Grenadines feel so special? It’s their intimate atmosphere and untouched beauty. When I visit these small islands stretching between St Vincent and Grenada, it feels like traveling back in time to the old Caribbean, before the cruise ships and mass tourism. The islands have a real sense of exclusivity with their secluded beaches, dazzling marine life and intensely beautiful landscapes. This feels far, far away from the modern world (in the best way!). Each island offers its own unique charm — visit Canouan for its luxury, Bequia for its culture or Mustique for its private tranquility. I spent a magical week sailing on a catamaran in St Vincent and the Grenadines. We visited St Vincent, Bequia, Canouan, Union Island, Tobago Cays and Mayreau. As you may know, many islands in St Vincent and the Grenadines suffered serious damage as a result of Hurricane Beryl. Now is a wonderful time to support tourism in this country as it rebuilds. The resorts and islands mentioned here are open for business, and deeply appreciate your support.

Many of us are lucky enough to be able to take cruises in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. Those two seas together account for around almost two-thirds of cruise vacations taken every year. But what about the rest of the world? Let's take a look at some (relatively) undiscovered regions and discover voyages that are just as stunning as the Caribbean and just as historic as the Mediterranean.

When visiting Egypt, taking a cruise on the Nile makes perfect sense. Historically, Egypt's civilization has been centered on the river, so by sailing the Nile you get to see the best the country has to offer. A typical Nile itinerary will have you stay in Cairo for a few days, then fly to Luxor to start the cruise. Sail south to Aswan and back to Luxor. Then, fly back to Cairo. By flying, you bypass a stretch of the river which would take days to sail and has fewer attractions than other parts of the river.

Which cruise you choose will depend on which operator you prefer, your chosen cruise length and whether the itinerary focuses on a relaxed journey or more extensive historical exploration. Also consider the excursions and the optional extensions before or after your cruise; a trip to Jerusalem or Dubai will add another fascinating dimension to your trip.

We celebrated a milestone birthday on Aruba and stayed at the award-winning Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort. As someone that had NEVER been on a cruise before, I was not sure what to expect on our four night Caribbean cruise aboard Virgin Voyage's Scarlet Lady. We embarked from Miami, had a day at sea, a day in Key West, then onto Bimini and finally back to Miami. Despite some less than ideal weather, we had a really good time!

As the holiday season approaches, many dream of a white Christmas, but we usually trade snowflakes for palm trees! We spent last Christmas on Grenada, the Spice Isle of the Caribbean. From the stunning beaches to the vibrant culture and traditions, our holiday in Grenada was a tropical paradise.

We loved swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear water, trying out SNUBA at the underwater sculpture park, and taking day trips to St Georges and the Grand Etang National Park for hiking and waterfall swimming. The island feels truly unspoiled and so much less touristy than some of the other Caribbean islands we have been to. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Grenada to anyone that enjoys relaxing on beautiful beaches but wants the option to have a little adventure thrown into the mix.

It is always worth stopping in Athens either at the start or the end of your Greek island-hopping trip. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to see and do, but it is also small enough that three days is usually enough to enjoy the best of what the city has to offer. I spent a week on Curaçao celebrating a milestone birthday. Because my birthday is in early September, we always have to think about whether hurricanes will impact our Caribbean trips. The beauty of the Netherlands Antilles (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao) is that they are outside the hurricane belt and are safe bets anytime of the year. While each island is beautiful and unique, Curaçao distinguishes itself with its unique character and cultural charm. The island's less-crowded beaches, diverse underwater landscapes and vibrant arts scene provide a laid-back and authentic experience. This sets Curaçao apart from other islands as a special destination with its own captivating identity. Whether diving into the vibrant coral reefs, strolling through the colorful streets of Willemstad or savoring the diverse culinary offerings, Curaçao invites visitors to experience a fun fusion of Caribbean warmth and Dutch influence, making it a truly exceptional and unforgettable destination.

My first ever visit to mainland Europe was to Salzburg, Austria, at Christmas — where I learned that there’s no better way to make special holiday memories than to explore the centuries-old Christmas markets in Europe. Stroll through medieval streets under twinkling lights, exploring the seasonal treats on every stall: hot chocolate, spiced gingerbread and, of course, spiced glühwein.
