Gaylord Palms: Your Orlando Oasis Awaits

My recent stay at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, Florida, was nothing short of exceptional, beginning the moment I stepped into the grand lobby. The check-in experience set a remarkably high bar for hospitality. The front desk staff are, without exaggeration, some of the most welcoming individuals I've ever encountered in the hospitality industry. What truly stood out was their personal touch; they would approach guests waiting in line, greeting them individually and making them feel seen and appreciated. This classy gesture instantly created a warm and personal atmosphere, setting the tone for a truly memorable visit.

Upon entering my Gulf Coast Deluxe Suite, I was immediately struck by its sheer beauty and meticulous cleanliness. As someone who is particular about hotel hygiene, I appreciated how immaculate the room was. This suite is perfectly designed, offering ample space for families with children to play and relax, or even for those looking to host a small dinner gathering with friends. Beyond the aesthetics, the bathroom provided one of the best hotel shower experiences I've ever had. The water pressure was absolutely perfect, and what truly amazed me was the quality of the provided shampoo. My skin typically feels tense after using most body washes and shampoos, so it's rare to find a product that doesn't cause this reaction. I was incredibly happy that the Gaylord Palms' shampoo left my skin feeling comfortable and moisturized.

The culinary offerings at the Gaylord Palms deserve a perfect 10/10. While waiting for my room to be ready, I decided to grab a bite at Wreckers, the hotel's sports bar. Their Philly cheesesteak was simply divine, melting in my mouth with every bite. My server, Carla, was terrific; she had an uncanny ability to anticipate my needs before I even had to ask, a rare and highly appreciated quality. She truly ensured I was taken care of. For dinner that evening, I opted for room service and was blown away by their cheese flatbread. I'm generally not a fan of flatbreads, but this one was so good that I ordered it again the following night! Breakfast at Villa De Flora was equally incredible. My waiter, Russel, was amazing. He was attentive to my needs and radiated a genuine passion for his work at the Gaylord Palms, serving with a constant smile. If you visit Villa De Flora for dinner, I highly recommend asking for Russel; he will undoubtedly ensure you have a fantastic dining experience.

The Gaylord Palms also caters wonderfully to a variety of tastes and preferences when it comes to quick bites and specialty treats. For all the Starbucks enthusiasts out there, you'll be delighted to find a Starbucks conveniently located within the Emerald Bay Market. The staff there were not only incredibly nice but also remarkably efficient, making me want to return for more. And for those with a sweet tooth, the presence of a Cold Stone Creamery brought a wave of nostalgia and comfort, reminding me of my local spot back home in New York. Their ice cream is, of course, terrific. Additionally, Jamba Juice offers a great option for smoothie lovers looking for a refreshing and healthy pick-me-up. For those seeking a more sophisticated evening, Socio, their Cuban bar and lounge, is a highly raved-about spot. The resort also boasts MOOR, a restaurant specializing in locally inspired cuisine with fresh ingredients sourced from the area, and the upscale Old Hickory Steakhouse. While the prices at Old Hickory are on the higher side, the quality of the food absolutely justifies the expense. I even brought a foodie friend from Florida to Wreckers, and he raved about the Cobb salad, while my Caesar salad with grilled chicken was fresh, delicious, and left me craving more.

The water park at the Gaylord Palms is a highlight, offering relaxation and exhilaration in equal measure, catering to both kids and the young at heart. The pools were relaxing, and the Crystal Rapids, their take on a lazy river, was anything but ordinary. The water moves at a surprisingly fast pace, making for an incredibly fun and engaging experience. They also feature a thrilling drop slide that was popular with both adults and children, adding another layer of excitement to the aquatic adventures.

To cap off my luxurious stay, I indulged in a manicure and pedicure at the Relaché spa. My nail technician, Yerenise, provided the best mani-pedi I've ever received, and she was an absolute delight to talk to. While the spa services were certainly an investment, the quality of the treatment and the overall experience made it unequivocally worth every penny. The Gaylord Palms truly excels in creating a comprehensive and unforgettable resort experience, from the moment you check in to your final pampering session.

The Gaylord Palms in Orlando, Florida, is more than just a resort; it's an experience that truly needs to be seen to be believed. From the sprawling atriums to the impeccable service, every detail contributes to an atmosphere of wonder and relaxation. This was, without a doubt, an amazing vacation, and I can confidently say that the Gaylord Palms is a must-visit destination at least once in your life.
