The Vibe: Luxury that actually feels like home

From the moment you walk through the doors of this beautiful, historic building, you can feel the difference. It’s got that classic New York elegance, but without feeling stuffy. And they know how to make you feel special!

Here’s a little secret: When you check into your room, the in-room TV doesn't just display a menu—it welcomes you by name! That simple, personalized touch sets the whole tone for a flawless stay.

Suite life: My favorite room corner

I got a peek inside the incredible Carnegie Suite and the Otto Suite. They are both stunning urban havens, designed perfectly for relaxing after a long day of exploring the city.

But if I have to pick one thing that totally blew me away? It was the bathroom in the Otto Suite. Seriously, it’s jaw-droppingly beautiful. It’s spacious, elegant, and the perfect spot to feel pampered—definitely the highlight of the room!

Fitness fans, listen up!

Okay, let's talk about the gym. If you're someone who actually uses the hotel fitness center, you are going to be thrilled. This is not your average cramped room with three treadmills.

They have everything! You’ll find Peloton bikes for your daily ride, The Mirror for virtual classes, and a dedicated, professional-grade CrossFit setup! It’s so comprehensive, it looks like a personal trainer's playground. If you need to stick to your serious routine while traveling, this hotel has you covered (and then some!).

My five-star (plus!) lunch at La Marchande

The dining at the hotel's French restaurant, La Marchande, was honestly one of the best parts of the visit.

Service: Top-tier, five-star service. They are attentive without being intrusive—exactly what you want.

The food: I had the salmon, and I wish I could invent a sixth star just for this dish! It was perfectly fresh, with that amazing, crisp exterior we all crave. Paired with an incredible potato puree? It was culinary perfection. You absolutely must try it.

Travel tip: Making the journey easy

For my fellow travelers flying into JFK International Airport, here is the most convenient way to get straight to the hotel using public transit:

  • Hop on the AirTrain from your terminal to the Jamaica LIRR Station.

  • Take the LIRR straight to Grand Central Terminal.

  • From Grand Central, grab the 4 or 5 Subway Line (going downtown) to the Wall Street station.

  • A quick, easy 0.3-mile walk and you're officially checked into paradise!
