Trip Overview
The Lexington Hotel is the perfect blend of luxury, location, accessibility and style. Situated a stone's throw away from Grand Central, this property places one within striking distance of world-class museums and eateries. Blend into the hustle and bustle of Midtown, while marinating in the hotel's rich past to the higher standards of a New Yorker on the go.
This property has a long history of hosting rare celebrities like Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe, who stayed in what is now called the "Norma Jean Suite," a gorgeous one-bedroom with a dining room and extended balcony on the 18th floor. Its famous "Hawaii Room" and "Chateau Madrid" took themed dinners and big bands to another level. The neighborhood is vibrant and alive, filled with French bistros and steakhouses. I'd recommend "The Brasserie Cognac," located right across the street. I had a mouthwatering Beef Bourguignon, in a semi-disassembled form in which one could mix to create the stew.

Stayton Room
Entrance into the property is rewarded by a magnificent marbled hall, complete with elevated ceilings and balcony seating. After check-in, I visited their well stocked store in the rear, where I was pleasantly surprised at the food and commodities on offer, everything a busy traveler might need. My Standard Queen Room was located on the 8th floor and provided a lavishly decorated walk-in shower and adorned mirror. The real treat comes when one goes back downstairs and enters the "Stayton Room," an incredible space meant to recreate the sense of a roaring 20s Speakeasy. Pulling up to the bar, I felt as if I was in a scene from "The Great Gatsby." A darkened bar backlit by rows of dimly lit lights arranged in a half-moon shape, this space offers a variety of stately cocktails and some impressive displays on their charcuterie boards. Now this is not a full-service restaurant, but will serve as the location for an amazing breakfast spread, available through Fora's partnership in your booking.
