A 7-Night Cruise On the Harmony of the Seas
Curator’s statement

In January of 2024, I took a seven-day cruise on Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas. The itinerary was from the port of Galveston to Roatan, Honduras, Costa Maya, Cozumel and returning to the port of Galveston. That week we had a break from tinter weather which made for a relaxing and enjoyable cruise. The food was fantastic, the entertainment was great, the service was excellent and the weather was perfect. I would and will sail on the Harmony of the Seas again.

We arrived early to our 11:00 am embarkation time. There wasn't anyone in line, so we were allowed to start the boarding process. Royal Caribbean has everyone else beat with the speed and ease to get through the process and onto the ship. From the time we arrived at the terminal to our first steps on board, everything was complete under 10 minutes.

The Harmony of the Seas can hold 6,500 guests on board, so one might think that it would be overrun with people. That is only the case on the first day, partially because the stateroom isn't available until 1:00 pm. The only thing you have to do is go and check in at your muster station.

Pro-tip: eat at the Solarium Bistro on Deck 15 or the Park Cafe on Deck 8 instead of fighting the masses at the Windjammer Buffet.

We enjoyed all of the entertainment options on board. We saw the musical Grease, the ice skating show, the comedy club and the aqua show. Every single one was fantastic and the talent on board is amazing.

We really loved the food and ate every single morning and night in the main dining room. Everything was superb.

The ports of call for most cruise ships sailing out of Galveston are all of the same, being Roatan, Costa Maya and Cozumel. Nothing special here! What we enjoy is to stay on board and enjoy everything the ship has to offer. We even took two rides on the Ultimate Abyss, the 10-deck dry slide. There are three water slides total, numerous hot tubs and various pools. The Harmony also has a carousel on board, which was always busy with children of all ages.

Need to know

I'd recommend Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas to anyone - especially those with children of any and all ages!
