Curator’s statement
This cruise supplier stands out for its family-friendly focus, offering a unique experience that combines both a Halloween and a pirate party at sea. The staff's attention to detail and drive to make the trip as memorable as possible was wonderful. I would recommend this sailing and cruise line for clients planning family vacations.

Pre & post-cruise stays
Arrive in the area at least one day before your sail date to avoid any issues with a delayed flight causing you to miss the cruise.
Essentials to bring
Bring a costume and be able to vary it for both dress-up nights (Halloween and Pirate). Make sure you have comfortable shoes to walk around in as there is a ton of walking. Make sure you have Sunscreen (Ocean safe) as it gets hot. We had two casual nights, formal night (optional), Halloween (within Disney standards) and Pirate night (what you want to make of it, within Disney standards). Make sure you have a variety of clothes to wear throughout the day and that matches the theme of the night. Also bring an outlet block that will let you plug in multiple devices (phones, magic bands). Small power strip is not allowed.

The ship
The Disney Magic, although the oldest Disney ship, is still equipped with plenty of activities for kids of all ages. They are equipped with a full-service spa. The adult-only area is spacious with its own pool and two hot tubs. The kids splash pad has lots of fun for kids, including a water slide. The main pool has two hot tubs and is where the evening movies are played. There is also a drop water slide that starts up in the smoke stack.

Entertainment and activities
The water slides are great for everyone. The stage productions are wonderful new takes on classics like Peter Pan. The onboard movie theater shows new-release movies on a rotating schedule. The various kid zones have plenty to keep them occupied if they want to go. The shopping is unique due to the “only on this ship” items that they have. Unlike other cruise lines, there is no casino. With this being a themed cruise, there are several special events that occur like pirate night fireworks and a pumpkin tree lighting.
Port calls
In Nassau, there are several excursions that range from a simple beach day to snorkeling with sea turtles and even checking out local cultural sites.
At both Castaway Cay and Lighthouse Point, you don't really need an excursion as you get access to all of the private Disney amenities. There are several additional experiences that you can take part in both for free and some for a fee.
Additional costs
All excursions have a fee to participate, on Castaway Cay and Lighthouse Point. Equipment rentals for individual activities have additional costs
Need to know
Plan out character interactions, as there are a lot of them. If it is a popular character, you will want to be in line at least 30 minutes early. With a themed cruise, be mindful of special activities. They are very popular, so plan accordingly. If you do not get the internet package, ensure you have a means to communicate with your group.
Lighthouse Point has a 20–30-minute walk on the Pier to get to the Island. There are shuttles that can take you to and from the ship. You will have to follow the directions on where to go to get the service.
