Casa San Agustín is one of my favorite boutique hotels. 31 sophisticated rooms, spread throughout three restored 17th-century buildings, comprise this charming Cartagena gem. I especially love the tile detailing, wood-beamed ceilings, original frescoes (found in the hotel's lovely library) and secluded pool flanked by an ancient aqueduct. And in the next couple months, the hotel will be adding six new cabaña-style accommodations on their private Acasi Beach, located on the heavenly Baru peninsula, about 90 minutes from the hotel proper.
