Curator’s statement
Armenia surprised me in the best way—breathtaking mountain landscapes, a rich and fascinating history, incredible food and wine, and warm, welcoming people. Every experience felt authentic and full of character, from sipping wine after a zipline ride to chatting with locals over homemade coffee. It’s a destination that balances adventure, culture, and those “pinch-me” scenic moments.

Day 1: Touch down in Yerevan

Check in to your hotel in the heart of the city, then kick-off your adventure in style with a private tour in a classic Soviet-era convertible. You’ll cruise around Yerevan feeling like an old-school movie star as you soak in the main sights, discover the culture, and pop a bottle in toast to your first day. For dinner, check out the one of the many authentic Armenian restaurants around Republic Square. Don’t miss the halva dessert—a tiny, dramatic flavor bomb you’ll never forget.
Day 2: Temples, monasteries & nature’s architecture

When your lunch spot comes with a side of history: Garni Temple in the distance, mountains all around, and Armenian wine on the table. Pure magic.
Head east of Yerevan for a day of jaw-dropping sights, starting with Geghard Monastery, carved into the mountainside, and Garni Temple, Armenia’s only Greco-Roman beauty. Don’t miss the Symphony of Stones, where basalt columns rise like nature’s own organ—grab a glass of wine from a vendor for the walk. Pause for lunch at one of the serene cafes with sweeping views of Garni Gorge and dishes worth lingering over. Wrap up back in Yerevan with dinner and live music in one of the city center’s vibrant North Avenue spots.
Day 3: A taste of Yerevan

Spend the morning on a culinary walking tour, tasting your way through local cheeses, breads, sweets, and maybe even a splash of fruit vodka. It’s the perfect way to soak up the city’s culture one bite at a time. In the evening, head into the mountains for a private dining experience you’ll never forget—a multi-course dinner under the stars prepared by local chefs. Think seasonal flavors, intimate vibes, and views that steal the show. End the night knowing you’ve checked off a bucket-list meal.
Day 4: Road tripping & adrenaline

Head north into the mountains for a day of history and heart-pumping fun. Visit a centuries-old Amberd Fortress, stopping at the “anti-gravity hill” optical illusion spot, then unwind over a hearty lunch at a nearby tavern with panoramic views. Once your stomach has settled, get your heart pumping with a ziplining adventure across a deep green valley and toast your bravery with a local vintage. Back in the city, head over to the Cascade, with its stairs and outdoor cafes, offers both a lively atmosphere and beautiful views, especially at night.
Day 5-6: Into wine country

Leave the city behind and head to Armenia’s wine region for a slower pace. Check into a countryside guesthouse surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills. Spend the evening savoring local wines at a boutique winery with views that look straight out of a postcard. End the night sharing stories with your hosts and other guests over a nightcap in the cozy lodge living room.
The next morning, start with a relaxed breakfast, then visit the oldest winery in the world. If you’re up for more exploring, check out nearby caves where in-cave wine tastings are starting to pop up. After soaking in the history, linger over lunch at a locally owned spot paired with a few glasses of regional wine. On your way back, pop into a small boutique vineyard for another taste of Armenia’s winemaking tradition. Later, freshen up and head to a cozy neighborhood restaurant where the owners greet you like old friends and the hospitality feels genuinely personal.
Day 7-8: Lake life escape & one last adventure

Drive toward Lake Sevan, stopping at a monastery tucked dramatically into the mountains along the way. Check into a lakeside hotel, kick back by the pool, or cozy up by a fire if it’s cool outside. Enjoy a leisurely evening with fresh, local dishes and beautiful views over the water. This is your pause button before heading home.
Before getting on your flight home the next day, head out for a mountain biking excursion along the lake or a scenic hike. Enjoy fresh air, open skies, and a coffee stop at a local home make this experience unforgettable. It’s the perfect way to wrap up your Armenian adventure.
Need to know
When is the best time to go? Late spring is ideal—think sunny days, cool evenings, and minimal crowds. If you’re a wine lover, go early June for Yerevan Wine Days, a street festival that turns the city into one big tasting room. And if you’re into snow skiing, there’s a fantastic resort just 60 km northeast of Yerevan open from mid‑December through March.
