Curator’s statement
Sitges holds a special place in my heart because it was where I first experienced the magic of a truly carefree European beach town. I went for a close friend’s 30th birthday in 2024 and was instantly captivated by the town’s beauty, vibrant energy and inclusive spirit. From the golden beaches to the unforgettable food and nightlife, it felt like a place where everyone could just be themselves. It’s one of those rare destinations that leaves you feeling both energized and completely at peace.

Things to do in Sitges, Spain

Sailing the coast: There’s nothing like seeing Sitges from the water. A day on a sailboat gives you stunning views of the coastline (just don’t forget motion sickness meds if you need them!).
Cocktails in Judgement Square: This is the perfect spot to people-watch and enjoy the local buzz with an afternoon Aperol Spritz or evening glass of cava.
Beach-hopping: From the chill, clothing-optional Platja dels Balmins to the lively Playa del Muerto, each beach has its own vibe — and they’re all gorgeous.
Dinner and drag at Queenz Cabaret: Where else can you enjoy a full meal and a fabulous cabaret show on the same night? It’s over-the-top in the best way.
Strolling the waterfront promenade: Ideal at sunset, this palm-lined stretch is the heart of Sitges and perfect for an early evening walk before dinner.
Eating paella at Mare Nostrum: It’s a must. Their seafood paella is as fresh and flavorful as it gets, especially with a sea breeze in the air.
Exploring the Old Town: Wander the narrow streets lined with whitewashed buildings and bougainvillea. It’s charming, peaceful and totally Insta-worthy.
Nightlife on “Sin Street” (Carrer Primer de Maig) – Sitges comes alive at night, and this strip of bars is always buzzing, especially in summer.
Watching the Sunset from ME Sitges Terramar’s Rooftop — With a cocktail in hand, this is the ultimate golden hour moment.
Lunch at La Zorra: Their modern spin on traditional rice dishes is creative, delicious and totally worth a midday indulgence.
Places to eat & drink in Sitges, Spain

Mare Nostrum: A beachfront classic known for some of the best paella in town. Fresh seafood, relaxed vibes and unbeatable views of the Mediterranean.
La Zorra: Creative, elevated rice dishes with a playful twist. The food is fantastic, the wine list is top-notch and the rustic-chic atmosphere seals the deal.
Maricel: A perfect spot for a special dinner, especially on the terrace. Their Mediterranean tasting menu is elegant and thoughtfully prepared, without being too formal.
Queenz Cabaret Restaurant: Come hungry and ready to laugh. The set menu is delicious, but it’s the high-energy drag cabaret show that makes it unforgettable.
Casa Tecla: Authentic Catalan food with a modern touch. The staff is super welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like dining at a friend’s home — if your friend happens to be an amazing chef.
Need to know
Some beaches (like Balmins and Playa del Muerto) are clothing-optional and very LGBTQ+-friendly. Families tend to hang out on the central beaches near the promenade. Bring a beach towel, sunscreen and maybe a cooler with some snacks — many beaches are more relaxed and don’t have full services.
