Things to do in Greece

Catamaran cruise: Sail your way through the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea at sunset. Sip Greek wine, snack on wholesome Greek food, go for a swim or just soak up the sun.
Cliff jumping in Ammoudi Bay: Anyone who is fan of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants will recognize this spot. This is for the adventurous ones as the walk to the cliff is a narrow dirt trail along the coastline. You must then swim to the cliff and gather up your courage to make the leap!
Sunset at Akrotiri Lighthouse: Gather with other viewers on the rural cliffs for an unobstructed view of a glorious Greek sunset. You’ll understand how the great minds of Greece were so inspired after being captivated by the warm glow over the sea. Bring a snack — people literally brought popcorn and applauded after — and make yourself comfortable. A much less crowded experience than watching the sunset in Oia.
Kamari Beach: Black pebble beach with beach chairs and umbrellas available for use. The bustling town of Karmari is filled with restaurants along the water and great shops for souvenirs. I enjoyed buying postcards and stamps at a local shop, wrote on them at the beach and sent them off via the post boxes you can find around town.
Perissa Beach: Black sand beach with crystal clear waters. Another option that is smaller than Kamari Beach if Kamari is too crowded.
Wine tasting tour: Book a private wine tasting tour to explore the Greek wine-making process and sample delicious wine with great views. Fun for couples or groups! Your guide, along with the wine, can easily be the highlight of the experience.
Hike from Fira to Oia: If you want amazing views while getting some exercise, put on your hiking shoes — sturdy sneakers work just fine — and take the walk from Fira to Oia.
Traditional Greek village horse riding: An unforgettable experience. Use local guides who want to share their love for horses and their island. Explore the villages and take pictures of the Caldera. Your photo frames will thank you.
Places to eat & drink in Greece

Lauda: Lauda was the first restaurant on the island. It is a luxurious and special experience. The service makes you feel like you are the most important person in the world and the food had amazing flavors I’d never experienced. The view is second to none. Even walking down, the quaint staircase to the restaurant is exciting. Go there. Period.
Ammoudi Fish Tavern: Great spot for fresh, local seafood right on the water.
Buy local food at the supermarket: Specifically the Greek yogurt and honey. Nothing compares to the quality and flavor of their yogurt. It is exceptionally better than any brand you can find in the USA.
Kanzen Santorini: Japanese Fusion restaurant with a chic vibe at Divino Resort. Stunning caldera views.
Pizza Napoli Santorini: Great spot for satisfying pizza at a good price. If you’re spending the day at the beach in Kamari, a perfect lunch or dinner idea to feed even the pickiest of eaters.
KooKoo Bar: Delicious eats with a sunset view. Grab a coffee or cocktail along with an authentic meal. Great for a casual lunch or dinner at a good price.
Franco’s Cafe: If you want to get out of Oia and Fira, head to Franco’s in Pygros to experience the highest bird's-eye view of the island. You’ll see the white towns speckling the landscape with ocean views while sipping a great beverage (coffee and more). A must visit!
Lucky’s Slouvakis: If you want a classic gyro and Greek “fast food,” this is your stop. Located in Fira, it comes highly recommended for a quick, cheap bite that will satisfy and delight.
Need to know
October is a prime month to visit the island. Most of the heavy tourism has subsided for the season, so you are more likely to be able to find accommodations, reservations and tours that are available. At the end of November, any restaurants, shops and tours take a break for the winter months. October is your last chance to have perfect, warm/hot weather but it is not scorching. You can be on the beach, swim and wear summer clothing.
Santorini can be windy, and it is usually on the forecast every day.
