  • 9/11 Museum- The 9/11 Memorial & Museum stands as a profound tribute to the lives lost and the spirit of unity that emerged in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. It's a space for reflection, where visitors can honor the victims, learn about the historical context and witness the remarkable stories of courage and compassion that defined that day and its aftermath. While somber, the museum offers a powerful message of hope and the enduring strength of the human spirit, making it an essential and deeply impactful experience.

  • Museum of Modern Art: Founded in 1929, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in Midtown Manhattan stands as one of the world's most influential museums dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Its vast collection, spanning from the late 19th century to the present, showcases iconic works across various mediums. From groundbreaking paintings like Van Gogh's "The Starry Night" and Picasso's "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon" to innovative design, film and performance art, MoMA offers a comprehensive exploration of artistic evolution. MoMA is not just a place to view art, but a place to engage with the ideas that shaped, and are still shaping, our world. It is a location where people can experience creativity, openness and tolerance. In essence, MoMA is a dynamic institution that continues to shape and redefine our understanding of art.

  • Central Park- Central Park, an 843-acre oasis nestled in the heart of Manhattan, is a true urban marvel. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, this landscape masterpiece offers a serene escape from the city's bustling energy. From sprawling meadows and tranquil lakes to winding pathways and iconic landmarks, Central Park provides a diverse range of experiences. Whether you're seeking a leisurely stroll, a scenic bike ride or simply a moment of peaceful reflection, this iconic park offers a slice of nature within the concrete jungle. It is a place for all people, and a treasure to New York City.

Best Broadway shows:

  • Wicked- Long before Dorothy dropped in, two girls met in the land of Oz. Wicked tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between a green-skinned girl named Elphaba, who would later become the Wicked Witch of the West, and the bubbly, popular Glinda. Their journey through sorcery school and beyond explores their contrasting personalities, their relationships and their reactions to the Wizard's corrupt government. A dazzling musical filled with soaring melodies and powerful performances, Wicked challenges our perceptions of good and evil, revealing that sometimes, the 'wicked' are simply misunderstood. It's helpful to have seen the classic film, The Wizard of Oz, as Wicked cleverly weaves familiar elements into its captivating backstory.

  • And Juliet- If you're looking for a fresh, fun take on a classic, 'And Juliet' is a must-see! I absolutely loved how it reimagines the story of Romeo and Juliet, asking 'what if Juliet chose a different path?' It's a vibrant, energetic show that's perfect for anyone, and especially a fantastic introduction to Broadway, because it's packed with familiar pop hits you hear on the radio. Trust me, this musical is totally worth seeing!

Need to know

When exploring the vibrant streets of NYC, ditch the rental car! The city is incredibly walkable, and rideshares like Uber and Lyft are readily available for longer distances. While these services can be pricier in NYC, they offer unparalleled convenience. Alternatively, the subway system, though initially daunting, becomes surprisingly easy to navigate with a little practice. Embrace the pedestrian-friendly nature of the city, or hop on the subway or a rideshare and you'll be fine. I absolutely love New York City, and I hope you will too!
