I want to feel completely immersed in the culture of the cities and countries I visit, so I seek out boutique and unique hotels you may not find anywhere else. Food is one of my favorite ways to learn about the history of the places I travel to and I usually book one restaurant reservation before my trips. Though I leave a good part of my schedule open, too. I always try out local hot-spots and authentic cuisine by asking the people I meet along the way what their favorite places to eat are, whether they're a hole-in-the-wall or a Michelin star restaurant. One of the biggest things I look for when booking a trip is somewhere with comfortable lodging that won't be crawling with tourists.
