What I love most about Pimalai is how it makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. The beach is secluded and serene, and at night the jungle fills with a chorus of sounds that feel almost like music—a reminder of how far you’ve traveled. It’s intimate, peaceful, and perfect for anyone who wants to unwind into nature without sacrificing comfort.

Prague holds a special place in my heart—my daughter was married here, and my son-in-law’s family calls this storybook city home. I love long stays in Prague to slowly enjoy its mix of history, beauty, and warmth: wandering cobblestone streets, sipping Pilsner Urquell on Wenceslas Square, indulging in unforgettable bone marrow at Kantyna, and savoring coffee and insanely yummy cronuts at Oh Deer. From the fairytale architecture to the moving history of the Jewish Quarter, Prague is a city that invites you to slow down, explore, and fall in love with it over and over again.

South Korea surprised and delighted me at every turn. Though language was a challenge, the kindness and enthusiasm of locals made me feel truly welcome. I found unexpected connection in temples, markets, and even in the middle of a political protest. Traveling solo gave me the freedom to explore both the buzz of Seoul and the beauty of Busan at my own pace—and the result was one of the most soul-nourishing adventures I’ve ever had.

As a native Angeleno, Los Angeles holds a special place in my heart. From the vibrant East Side neighborhoods of Frog Town and Atwater Village, to the iconic Dodger Stadium, Griffith Park and Hollywood, this city is a treasure trove of local artists, musicians and charming eateries like Gracias Madre, Wife and the Somm and Salazar. My love for LA is rooted in family as well as its unique blend of creativity, community and endless opportunities for adventure.

Florence is more than just a beautiful city to me — it’s where my son, Zachary, lives, making every visit deeply personal and meaningful. Wandering its historic streets, exploring galleries, and sharing long conversations over late-night meals are some of my favorite moments with him. When I visit we walk along the Arno watching early morning rowers, picnic in the city's parks, and drive through the Tuscan countryside for wine and coastal adventures. I can’t think about Florence without thinking of my guy…making it one of my most cherished places in the world.

Dublin holds a special place in my heart. It's one of the first European cities where I spent months living solo, and it became a home away from home. Many of my closest friends live in Dublin and other parts of Ireland. I've always felt a deep connection to the country's rich history, poetry and warm, welcoming people. I love the rainy weather, the endless opportunities to explore and the sense of escape Dublin provides.

Edinburgh has always been a city of inspiration and escape for me. Living in Northern England, I often took the train to this stunning capital, drawn by its breathtaking architecture, rich royal history and vibrant international food culture. Exploring its museums, wandering the historic streets and being near the sea feels like a perfect blend of history and nature. Some of my fondest memories are traveling with a historian friend while learning about Edinburgh’s art, restoration projects and deep cultural heritage.
