Grand Hyatt Baha Mar is a massive, self-contained resort boasting just about everything you could want on a family vacation to the Caribbean: glistening beaches, nearly 50 nearby dining options, a full waterpark, a casino, a full-service spa…we could keep going. 

As for amenities and accommodations, expect plush furnishings and classic island decor. Grand Hyatt Baha Mar is a clear upgrade over your run-of-the-mill Bahamas resort. However, it’s worth noting that it caters to a casual audience versus serving as a luxury destination.

2. Sandals Royal Bahamian: a lovely & relaxing all-inclusive resort in Nassau only for couples

Sandals Royal Bahamian has a similar vibe to Grand Hyatt Baha Mar — they’re both located on the same stretch of coast in Nassau — but with three key differences. First, Sandals is an all-inclusive resort offering a variety of delicious dining options and access to a bevy of relaxing and adventurous activities (it’s fair to say that there’s a focus on the former). Second, while this resort certainly has enough to keep the average traveler happy, there’s not quite as much to do here compared to Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. And third, Sandals Royal Bahamian is above all a couple’s resort — so you can’t bring kids or groups. 

Sidenote: it’s worth noting that as an all-inclusive resort, Sandals Royal Bahamian may not be the best choice for travelers who want to explore the island outside of on-the-rails experiences.

3. The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas: one of the most luxurious Bahamas resorts on Paradise Island

If you’re looking for uncompromising luxury, your perfect stay in the Bahamas might be at The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort. 

This property is a clear upgrade over our prior two Bahamas resorts in terms of class and sophistication, with the obvious trade-off being that it's notably more expensive. Even the standard rooms compare favorably with some of the more luxurious options at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and Sandals Royal Bahamian. 

This stately resort blends classical Old-World elements with an elevated island getaway theme. The result is gorgeous and serene, but also fun. While the greater focus is on unwinding amidst the pleasant atmosphere, there are plenty of opportunities for adventure, too.

The only potential downside to this resort is that it doesn’t offer as many dining options as our first two choices. But everything here is of stellar quality.
