Caribbean Comfort at The Westin Grand Cayman
Curator’s statement

The Westin Grand Cayman holds a special place in my heart for its unbeatable location right on Seven Mile Beach, where the water is as blue as I remember it every time. It’s a place where my days naturally fall into a happy rhythm of beach walks, ocean swims, and sunset sails. I love that it’s relaxed enough for barefoot lunches yet polished enough for memorable dinners, all with the warm, easy charm of the Cayman Islands. Every visit feels like coming back to a familiar, sun-soaked friend who’s always ready to welcome me home.

Where to stay

There’s something about stepping into the Westin Grand Cayman that feels instantly like vacation mode. Maybe it’s the way the sunlight bounces off Seven Mile Beach just beyond the lobby, or how the scent of salt air drifts in every time the doors open. It’s a place that’s effortlessly welcoming. The kind of resort where you can drop your bags, slip off your shoes, and be toes-in-the-sand in minutes.

Seven Mile Beach is the star here, stretching wide and soft right at your doorstep. The Westin’s beachfront is lively yet laid-back, with plenty of loungers, easy access to the water, and Red Sail Sports right next door for all your water sport adventures. Whether you’re heading out to Stingray City, trying parasailing, or booking a sunset sail. The pool scene is equally inviting, with swim-up drinks and a front-row seat to those iconic Cayman sunsets.

Dining on-site is fresh and varied, from beachside bites to the island flavors at Ferdinand’s. Just steps away, you can wander into Mento, a stylish spot that blends Caribbean ingredients with modern flair. And of course, some of my longtime favorites are never far. Sunset dinners at The Wharf with Papi’s cigar and bourbon collection, Italian comfort at Luca, wood-fired pizza at Ragazzi, or barefoot lunches at Rum Point with a famous mudslide in hand.

The Wharf is a Cayman classic for fresh seafood, oceanfront sunsets, and Papi’s legendary cigar & bourbon collection.

The Westin is the perfect blend of approachable and upscale, easy for families, romantic for couples, and fun for groups who want to mix relaxation with a little adventure. Whether your days are filled with snorkeling, beach walks, or simply sipping something cold under a palm tree, this spot wraps it all in the kind of warmth that makes you want to come back year after year.

You must try a mudslide at Rum Point after a day at stingray city

Need to know

Book watersport excursions and sunset sails early, especially during peak season, as spots with Red Sail Sports fill quickly. Pack reef-safe sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and light, airy clothing for beach days, plus something a bit dressier for dinners out. Don’t forget water shoes or snorkel gear if you plan to explore the reefs right off Seven Mile Beach.
