Lux Maldives: We Didn't Want to Leave this Stunning Island
Curator’s statement

The staff, especially Hassan in Guest Relations and Waheed in housecleaning were exceptional. Highly professional, they have obviously had "5-star" training and it shows. They could not have been any nicer, providing us with complimentary champagne, lovely flower art on the bed and countless small kindnesses including an upgrade to the fabulous water villas with a pool for the last three nights of our stay.

My husband and I spent five wonderful days at the fabulous Lux Resort.

This resort sparkles, it is a luxury experience.

Everywhere we walked the staff had a smile and greeting for us.

The bungalows are very nice. We were in number 328 for the first couple of nights. It had so many amenities, such as an outdoor soaking tub, clean, modern, sleek decor and huge windows looking onto the sparkling turquoise and blue Indian Ocean.

The bed was super comfortable and it had a little sitting area that was nice to cozy up in.

There was a lot of his and her closet space as well as sinks.

The TV had a huge selection of movies as well as English channels

Wifi was everywhere and was strong.

The water villas are exquisite! Our pool was so amazing to sit in at night at hear the waves crashing a short distance away. There is a large round rattan swing that we could both lay in. There is also a comfortable couch as well as two chairs and a table outside. They have thought of everything to make you not even want to leave your room!

The room is decorated nicely, light, relaxing colors, extremely comfortable bed, huge closet, an interesting sink that looks like it should be in a modern art museum and a shower with a view!

The food is so delicious, we looked forward to the breakfast buffet, one of the best we have ever been to and I have been to 108 countries. There is too much too mention, but it is fresh, innovative and plentiful with much variety. I loved the infused water coolers, such as honeydew with honey, cucumber water and lemon water and fresh juices such as celery, ginger, lime and green apple, all chilled and refreshing.

We enjoyed eating at each of the restaurants, although they are expensive, we liked the Japanese the best.

The massage I received with our complimentary 34th anniversary coupon was amazing. I was so impressed with the whole spa area; there is a dry and wet sauna as well as areas to relax all beautifully situated looking out on the water.

My therapist almost put me to sleep. Her technique was excellent. She told me she had 14 years of experience and it showed, wonderful, worth every penny.

We loved spending time at the infinity pool by Senses Restaurant. There were not many people and we enjoyed floating around after snorkeling a bit.

The snorkeling safaris are good as well as the free house reef trips, do take advantage of these!

The atmosphere at night is romantic with mood lighting and places to hang out all over the island, including the wonderful bar stretched out over the water by the reception.

They have a delicious coffee cafe at the reception. We loved the foam. It was creamy and complete with latte art!
