The Jewel of the French Riviera: Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes
Curator’s statement

In September 2023, my husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the magnificent Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes. This exceptional property isn’t just visually beautiful and impeccably maintained; every staff member provided us with friendly, 5-star service from the moment we arrived until we bid our farewells. I would describe this historical luxury hotel to all my clients as an unforgettable, must-visit destination. Highly recommended!

GETTING HERE:

Part of the Oetker Collection, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc is located in Antibes, a resort town nestled between Nice and Cannes on the French Riviera. Offering picturesque views of the Mediterranean Sea, this renowned property is celebrated for its stunning coastline, luxurious ambiance, and rich cultural heritage. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, catering to commercial and private flights, is roughly a 30-minute drive from the hotel. Select bookings qualify for Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc’s Kiss and Bon Voyage service, providing personalized greetings upon arrival and private airport transfers. Additionally, the Oetker Collection partners with Sparfell Aviatoin Group, offering private chartered flights from anywhere in the world.

A complimentary luxury limousine service is available for all guests, ensuring smooth excursions and transfers throughout their stay. The proficient English and French-speaking drivers are readily available to assist with any destination inquiries. My husband and I particularly valued this service while exploring Antibes, guaranteeing a secure ride after our evenings in town.

Sea and sea side view

HOTEL:

Although we didn’t utilize the private airport transfer, our pampering journey commenced as soon as we arrived. The attentive valet swiftly escorted us into the lobby, where our assigned front desk manager warmly welcomed us. After guiding us to a cozy loveseat in Bar Bellini and offering us a refreshing welcome drink, she efficiently completed our check-in process. The lobby exuded a tranquil elegance, with several couples lounging as they awaited their check-ins. The hotel’s architecture and grounds, as seen in the photographs, were even more awe-inspiring in person.

The property boasts 111 rooms, suites, and villas, each exuding a timeless French charm and opulence. Since our room wasn’t ready, we proceeded to Eden Rock Grill for lunch. Seated with a direct view of the Mediterranean Sea and the iconic Hotel du Cap pool, I couldn’t help feeling as though I were in a dream. The exceptional cuisine, the picturesque setting, and the impeccable service all contributed to a remarkable dining experience. However, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the appointments we had scheduled at the Dior Spa. Walking through the hotel’s serene and environmentally conscious grounds only added to the anticipation. The Dior Spa, with its stunning aesthetics and a diverse array of treatments, offers a truly satisfying experience.

The hotel’s dining options include three restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Louroc Restaurant. Additionally, four bars and lounges, each boasting a distinctive yet equally pleasing aesthetic, are scattered throughout the property. We indulged in daily breakfasts at both the Eden Roc Restaurant, offering a casual buffet, and Bar Bellini, presenting an elegant à la carte menu.

For us, the ultimate pleasure was simply unwinding by the pool. Whether it was swimming in the cliffside infinity pool, taking a leap from the vintage diving board into the sea, or enjoying a paddleboarding session, the hotel’s recreational offerings were unparalleled. Guests can also partake in various water activities, such as water skiing, jet skiing, and seabob rides, among others.

The bottom line:

Without a doubt, secure your reservation at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc now. Once you arrive, you’ll find it challenging to leave, and you’ll soon be yearning to return!
