Lovely New Luxury Hotel Overlooking Fewa Lake in Pokhara Nepal
Curator’s statement

We spent three nights at the Glacier Hotel and enjoyed our stay. We were in a smartly decorated, room on the sixth floor facing the mountains. The view of Mount Fish Tail in the morning was stunning! It could be called understated elegance and has a Mediterranean feel to the design.

There is a large terrace on both the sixth and seventh floor looking out onto the lake. It appears to need some more comfortable seating areas to encourage guests to enjoy it as there is just table with a few chairs there now.

The staff was kind enough to recognize our 34th wedding anniversary with a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers, a delicious little cake and flower art on the bed.

There are only three rooms on the sixth floor. Ours had a little sitting area, fridge, huge bed and TV with many English channels including movies and a rain shower head in the bathroom.

Buffet Breakfasts were very good especially the lattes and other coffee drinks. The barista has her foam perfected — very creamy and thick. The espresso drinks are wonderful.

The only suggestion the management may want to consider is the use of a top sheet on the bed separating the guests from the fluffy white European down comforters.

The WiFi seemed to be constantly dropping although I have noticed this is a problem all over Nepal.

All in all the staff is exceptional and get a A plus for customer service. Everyone from the owner to the manager to housekeeping to restaurant staff and bellboys went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and actually pampered.

The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The elevator zips you up and down quickly.

The location is excellent, we had our clothes washed right around the corner — six kilos for $6.00.

Need to Know

This is the best choice for upscale accommodations in Pokhara and was reasonably priced for what we got. Highly recommended.
