Colorado Ski Resorts: Quintessential Snowy Oasis
Curator’s statement

Being born and raised in Colorado, I’ve been able to visit my fair share of Colorado Ski Resorts. During my younger days I would visit the I-70 corridor of ski resorts for day outing and then while on Boy Scouting trips we would venture further into the mountains and enjoy destinations such as Steamboat springs, where I can still remember the snowy powder on the upper slopes of the mountain, nothing beats that fresh powder!

When it comes to skiing, nothing can parallel the divine vistas of Colorado's ski resorts that cater to all ability levels and budgets. Let's dive into the details of prime ski resorts along the I-70 corridor, Steamboat Springs, Aspen and the Durango/Crested Butte areas.

Heavenly Treasures: Ski Resorts Along the I-70 Corridor

Copper Mountain is a mid-range Colorado ski resort ideal for families and skiers of all abilities. The resort's noteworthy naturally divided terrain helps keep beginner and expert skiers on their respective and appropriate slopes. Choose from three villages packed with restaurants, shops and comfortable lodgings.

Ski-in/ski-out accommodations like the Copper Mountain Resort known for their spacious rooms adorned with rustic decor offering a cozy mountain retreat. On top of its proximity to the slopes, it also offers heated swimming pools and hot tubs to help relax after an exhilarating day of skiing. Or the Ten Mile Haus offers an unparalleled view of the mountains, paired with luxurious amenities such as a business center, hot tubs and balconies. It's a contemporary yet cozy property that ensures a stay filled with comfort and convenience.

Vail symbolizes luxury with its manicured 5,000-plus acres of ski and snowboarding trails catering to all skill levels making it a universally appealing resort. Marvel at the legendary Back Bowls, vast and varied terrain that will make any skier's heart flutter!

For seamless access to the slopes, consider staying at The Arrabelle at Vail Square which takes luxury to another level. With its European charm, it offers lavish rooms and suites, a world-class spa, and culinary delights at the tavern. Or The Lodge at Vail which amalgamates charm and luxury. Apart from ski-in/ski-out access, it also boasts two exceptional restaurants, a soothing spa, fitness center and an outdoor heated pool.

Beaver Creek is another jewel, offering a high-end experience, acclaimed ski schools and exquisite dining options. It boasts a variety of terrain, from gentle groomers to challenging mogul runs.

The Osprey, a boutique hotel, and the splendid Park Hyatt Beaver Creek are both ski-in/ski-out and have superb amenities.

Steamboat Springs: A Symphony of Snow and Serenity

Steamboat Ski Resort: Being one of my favorite mountains to hit the slopes and enjoy a iconic mountain town with a geothermal hot spring for soaking in after a fun-filled day on Colorado Ski Resorts. It offers bountiful powdery snow, family-friendly amenities and Champagne Powder®, its trademarked light and fluffy snow.

Look for the ski-in/ski-out Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas, which offers a luxurious family-friendly stay with spacious rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center, sauna and a menu to tantalize your taste buds. Or the on-mountain Torian Plum Condominiums located at the base of the ski mountain, provides homes away from home that boast full kitchens, cozy fireplaces, private balconies and fabulous views.

Uplifting Adventures in the Durango/Crested Butte Area

Purgatory Resort encompasses several runs, from beginner to expert, and a snowboard park.

Lodging like the Purgatory Village Condos offer a livable luxury with comfortable suites that come with kitchenettes and fireplaces, sports shops and fitness space.

The Peaks Resort and Spa: in Telluride offers expansive slopes for the ski aficionado, distinguished by their Nordic beauty. Tick off your bucket list with a ski trip to the mystic San Sophia Mountain Range!

Feast your eyes on the views from the Mountain Village, complete with luxurious hotel options like Madeline Hotel & Residences which offers elegant rooms and suites, a luxury spa and dining ranging from casual to chic—all with ski-in/ski-out access. Or the Inn at Lost Creek, a boutique hotel where each unit is individually decorated, providing a unique experience. It also offers access to a golf course and a wellness area.

Elevation Hotel & Spa in Crested Butte promises an unforgettable ski trip. It's home to extreme limit runs, making it a treasure for daring skiers.

Stay at the ski-in/ski-out Grand Lodge, which stands out with its modern amenities combined with classic mountain elegance. Apart from its well-equipped rooms, it also provides a fitness center, indoor/outdoor pool and a full-service spa. Or The Lodge at Mountaineer Square for modern amenities and unrivaled proximity to the slopes.

Aspen: The Land of Snowy Luxuries in Colorado Ski Resorts

Aspen Snowmass: is a unique blend of four ski areas offering dynamic skiing and snowboarding experiences for all levels: Snowmass, Aspen Mountain (also known as Ajax), Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. Together, they make up the world-famous destination of Aspen Snowmass.

Snowmass, the largest of the four mountains, is a haven for families and adventurers alike. Its 3,000+ acres of skiable terrain boasts epic long trails, massive vertical drops and a variety of runs catering to everyone from beginners to hard-core skiers and boarders. Snowmass also offers delightful special features like the Treehouse Kids Adventure Center, the breathtakingly high Alpine Coaster and Ullrhof's Games and tubing area for added fun.

The heart and soul of Aspen Mountain (Ajax) lies in its challenging terrain and non-stop glades. It's known for its vertical slopes and blue runs, which makes it an ideal destination for expert skiers. However, the mountain also has an awe-inspiring panoramic view served up by the Aspen Mountain Gondola. With Ajax's in-town location, one can literally ski right into central Aspen, where luxury resorts and high-end dining await.

Consider staying at the St. Regis Resort Aspen, a world-class destination, it has rooms and suites with customized furnishings. With butler service, a heated outdoor pool, and top-tier dining, your stay brims with luxury. Or choose the Ritz-Carlton Club, perched on the slope of the Aspen Highlands, offers a homely retreat for the discerning traveler. Each immaculate residence captures the essence of a cozy mountain home while offering access to the Club’s exceptional amenities.
