Curator’s statement
New to Savannah's scene in 2024 is Hotel Bardo, housed in a beautiful, historic building just steps from Forsyth Park. Bardo calls itself part urban resort, part neighborhood clubhouse, with Club Bardo welcoming both hotel guests and local members. You feel as though you are stepping in to the most stately of mansions, and then upon entry, are greeted by bright colors, unique design and a fun, upbeat vibe. Hotel Bardo is a must stay on your next trip to Savannah!

As you step into Hotel Bardo, you get a glimpse into the South of another time period — the grand facade of the building and the unique decor, but you also feel like you are walking into the hottest spot in Savannah. Pinks and greens mix with deep wooden hues. As you meander around the lobby, both indoors and outdoors, and take a peek at the pool, you may just be tempted to stay on property throughout your time in Savannah!

Bardo is perfect for couples, offering a cozy and romantic weekend getaway where you can lounge poolside, enjoying a cocktail or snack from Bar Bibi or even a gelato from their little truck located on the lawn. Saltgrass Spa is also on property, offering facials, massages and body treatments. After your day of relaxation, grab a pre-dinner drink at The Green Room for a little bit of people watching in the lobby. Move over to Saint Bibiana, a fine dining coastal Italian restaurant located right on property as well and in addition to the most amazing olive oils and breads, you get fresh pastas and a nice mix of both locals and visitors in the gorgeous space.

Bardo is also a top notch destination for a girls' trip — bachelorettes, birthdays or just a quick catch up with a friend! Upon check in, you will receive a calendar of events for the week, with daily fitness classes — yoga, pilates, and bootcamp were all offerings during my stay. There were also a wide array of experiences to sign up for — cooking classes, mixology and of course access to Club Bardo, a neighborhood social club that hotel guests can partake in. Enjoy your complimentary morning coffee, fruit and pastries, but don't forget to take advantage of your breakfast credits too and add some hot entree selections and cappuccino!
With so many amenities and offerings on site, no one would fault you for staying put during your stay. Should you need a landing spot for some touring and adventures around the city, Bardo is located right on Forsyth Park and among some beautiful residential streets downtown. It is just over a mile from the riverfront, with plenty of shops, museums, churches and Savannah's notable squares to wander around on your way.
