My Travel Style
Former teacher who spent summers jet-setting turned hotel professional turned travel advisor! Reach out to make the most out of your next long weekend, get that bucket list trip in motion or take the group room block negotiating or corporate event planning off your hands and leave it to me. I love to craft itineraries that are a mix of both planned excursions as well as leaving enough downtime for exploration!

Kathryn offered us a number of options as far as hotels - all were consistent with our requests. She also recommended great restaurants and experiences to enjoy while in the Charleston area. I highly recommend her to assist with travel planning

We couldn’t have asked for a better travel advisor! From the very beginning, Kathryn was outstanding in helping us plan our trip to Quebec City. She listened to our family needs and offered a shortlist of hotels she knew would be perfect for our family of five without overwhelming us with options. Kathryn’s recommendations were spot-on, and we ended up choosing a perfect hotel which suited our budget and space requirements. Kathryn went above and beyond by researching and suggesting family‑friendly dining options and sightseeing tours. Her thoughtful planning made navigating a new city much easier. Kathryn even checked in with us during the trip to ensure everything was going smoothly. Additionally, without us even asking, she proactively provided recommendations for fun places to stop along our long drive to and from Quebec. Kathryn’s attention to detail and organization gave us peace of mind from start to finish.

Kathryn worked diligently with us to select our choices for our trip to Italy. She advised us of different room configurations that would best accommodate our group and was transparent about pricing. She was readily available to address any modifications. Having our itinerary available via the TripPlans app was incredibly valuable for keeping track of our reservations, transportation and tours and made our trip so much easier!

36 Hours with The Grey Lady: Weekend Guide to Nantucket
To some, Nantucket is THE see-and-be-seen hot spot during the summer months, but your time on this idyllic island can be as busy or as agenda-free as you like. Nantucket is the definition of picturesque. It is the perfect getaway for those looking to do just that — get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the magic of a beautiful island while staying stateside.

Tulip Season at Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam
Social media has long known how to adjust my algorithms in the final weeks of winter. It shifts to all things spring florals, with the tulip fields of the Netherlands taking center stage. It had long been on my bucket list to try and catch a glimpse of these dreamy fields and parks. In the spring of 2024, I spent a long weekend, over King's Day, no less, in Amsterdam. My family and I enjoyed the unassuming luxury offered by The Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam. Comfortable rooms, kind and personalized service and five-star amenities make this a must-stay during your next European getaway.

Spend a Cozy Winter Weekend in Charleston
Charleston is a great idea any time of year, but oft overlooked in the countless travel literature of the Holy City is a focus on travel here during the winter season. Winter in Charleston brings some of the driest months of the year, mild temperatures and ample blue skies and sunshine — not to mention a strong chance that it is warmer here than just about all the rest of the US! While it may be a wee bit chilly for lounging on the beach or hopping on the boat, there is plenty to keep you busy. Take advantage of lower airfare and hotel rates, better access to those hard-to-grab popular restaurant reservations, and fewer crowds for a cozy weekend of exploration, food and beverage and revelry in the Low Country.

Get in the Holiday Spirit at Sea Island, GA
Although there is no bad time to visit this gem, tucked in the southeast corner of Georgia, there is something magical that happens at Sea Island between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. The festive decor everywhere you turn, the lights twinkling in the massive oaks, and the grandest of Christmas trees in the lobby will make even the staunchest grinch just a little bit lighter this holiday season.

Site Inspection at Montage Palmetto Bluff
I had only been living in South Carolina for a couple of weeks when family invited me to spend the day at Montage Palmetto Bluff. At the time, it was the perfect break from unpacking. As I drove down beautiful Old Palmetto Bluff Road, I couldn't help but pinch myself that this beautiful area is where I now call home! My day trip went by too fast, and while I enjoyed the pool and tennis courts, I only scratched the surface on what the 20,000-acre resort offered. Fast forward a few years, and I knew that this stunning property was worth a closer look. The team at Montage Palmetto Bluff couldn't have been more welcoming during my site visit- Southern Hospitality at its core. Read on to find out more about the perfect Southern escape for just about anyone.

A Visit to Hotel Bardo, Savannah, GA
New to Savannah's scene in 2024 is Hotel Bardo, housed in a beautiful, historic building just steps from Forsyth Park. Bardo calls itself part urban resort, part neighborhood clubhouse, with Club Bardo welcoming both hotel guests and local members. You feel as though you are stepping in to the most stately of mansions, and then upon entry, are greeted by bright colors, unique design and a fun, upbeat vibe. Hotel Bardo is a must stay on your next trip to Savannah!

36 Hours (or more!) in Savannah, GA
Savannah is somewhat affectionately known as Charleston's little sister, but it certainly packs a punch of its own with fascinating history, varied and delicious cuisine and an abundance of greenery and sunshine. Savannah is a river-front city with no shortage of rooftop bars to take in the view. Savannah is also the perfect pitstop on your way to Montage Palmetto Bluff, Hilton Head Island or even its big sister!
