Moku Kitchen
This is a great dinner spot and a stone’s throw away from Hank’s. The menu has hand-tossed pizzas and Hawaiian inspired entrees, but save room for dessert! The Chocolate Mac Nut Pie is outstanding. The hardest part of the meal was deciding which pie type to get. They currently have four on the menu.
1938 Indochine
Asian street food meets Hawaii. The decor is breathtaking, you feel like you’re in a different country. The food is served as small plates so you can share. For two people we ordered five plates which was a good amount of food.
Marugame Udon
Every time I go to Hawaii, I have to stop here. They have two locations: One in Waikiki, walking distance from most hotels. Then another in Downtown Honolulu. Be ready to wait in line, because this place draws a crowd. However it moves fast and they cook right in front of the window so you get ‘dinner and a show’.
The Pig and The Lady
Located in the heart of Chinatown, this Vietnamese restaurant takes pho to another level. They use quality ingredients and locally made noodles to elevate this classic dish. The seared foie gras is delicious and the P&L Sunday Funday is the perfect way to end the meal.
Fete
Make a reservation in advance because this place is HOT! 2022 James Beard Award Winner, this place has an ever changing menu that focuses on farm to table food mixed with modern cocktails and a great wine list. Perfect for an upscale date night without being too fancy.
La Vie
I am a sucker for French cuisine, and this place does not disappoint. For the full experience make reservations for the dining room where two types of tasting menus are available, with wine pairing as an option. Or walk-in and enjoy The Bar Room where on Wednesdays they have a Fried Chicken and Champagne special.
Azure
Located inside the Royal Hawaiian Hotel this oceanfront restaurant has beautiful views at sunset. The Culinary Team has partnered with local farmers and distillers from Oahu, Maui and Hawaii. The four-course dinner menu has vegetarian options and an optional wine pairing.
