Breakfast Spots in Oahu, Hawai'i
Curator’s statement

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not make it delicious! Sure, most hotels offer a breakfast buffet option, but when you have places like this that are offering great locally inspired dishes, it's worth getting out of bed in the morning. If you want a smoothie to enjoy on your way to hiking Diamond Head, or you're taking it easy with a relaxing experience beach side, the island has you covered.

Where to stay

Leonard’s Bakery

Get here early because the line forms fast! Malasadas are Portuguese donuts, tossed in different flavored sugars. If they have the Li-Hing one, get it! You won’t be disappointed.

Heavenly Island Lifestyle

Walkable from most hotels in the area, Heavenly Island Lifestyle is a cute little place, tucked away from the street that serves local, healthy breakfast options. Try the Coco Bowl or Big Island Honey French Toast for a truly topical experience.

Liliha Bakery

There are multiple locations, but if you can make it to the original location, do it! Classic Hawaiian diner food with a full bakery. They are known for their coco puff so make sure you get two. If you dine in, opt for the butter rolls, they are absolutely delicious and served with a side of Liliha jelly.

Honolulu Coffee

If you’re not interested in a full breakfast and are looking for a good cup of coffee before heading out of the day, make a stop at any of the Honolulu Coffee locations. They even have an Experience Center where you can see them roast beans, taste new brews and enjoy an item from the cafe.

The Sunrise Shack

Start your day with a fresh made superfood bowl or smoothie. They also offer Bullet Coffee which is blended with coconut oil, MCT oil and grass-fed butter.

ALOH Health Bar and Cafe

Lots of hot and cold drink options to satisfy anyone. Toast made with vegan organic sourdough bread and fresh juices with locally grown vegetables. If you want a healthy breakfast, then you have to check this place out.

The Veranda

Choose from either a full breakfast buffet or a la carte options while sitting beachside on the patio of the Moana Surfrider Hotel. The Moana “Beautiful” Mango Pancakes with lilikoi curd and coconut haupia syrup are totally worth it. Plus, you might get a glimpse of a rainbow over the ocean.
