Things to do in Greece

Standing on the Acropolis in Athens surrounded by centuries of history
Paros & Antiparos
Golden beaches and chic beach clubs: From the lively sands of Kolymbithres and Santa Maria in Paros to the laid-back elegance of Soros Beach in Antiparos, the islands are dotted with golden shores where turquoise waters meet stylish beach clubs—perfect for long, sun-soaked afternoons that drift into cocktail hours.
The Cave of Antiparos: One of the most impressive caves in Greece, this natural wonder boasts dramatic stalactites and stalagmites dating back millions of years. Stepping inside feels like entering a hidden cathedral of stone—a striking contrast to the island’s breezy beach life.
Parikia & Naoussa: Stroll the charming lanes of Parikia, with its whitewashed alleys and historic church of Panagia Ekatontapiliani, then head to Naoussa, a chic harbor town where fishing boats sit beside trendy bars, boutiques, and waterfront dining—the epitome of Cycladic charm with a cosmopolitan twist.
Santorini
Relaxing on the black-sand beaches: The volcanic sands of Perissa and Kamari create a striking backdrop for chic beach clubs and crystal-clear swims.
Sunset Dinner, land or private catamaran: Watching the sun disappear over the Oia Caldera—Santorini’s most iconic moment.
Peloponnese
Local Cooking Class in Giolova: Step into authentic Messinian life with a hands-on cooking class in Giolova, where family recipes and fresh regional ingredients bring Greek traditions to the table.
Pizza Sapienza by Daniele Cason (Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino): Experience Pizza Sapienza, an elevated pizza omakase-style degustation crafted by Chef Daniele Cason. Enjoy seasonal flavors, the secrets behind dough made with four types of flour, and intimate presentations in a rustic yet refined setting.
Mandarin Oriental
Omega Beach, Voidokilia: Often called one of Greece’s most beautiful beaches, Voidokilia curves into a perfect “Ω” shape—pristine sand, turquoise waters, and unspoiled dunes that feel like paradise.
Athens
The number one experience is the city’s crown jewel. The Acropolis is a rocky hill in the heart of Athens, often called the “sacred rock,” that served as the city’s ancient citadel. For over 2,500 years, it has been the spiritual and cultural center of Athens, crowned with temples, theaters, and monuments that reflect the glory of classical Greece.
The Parthenon, standing at the summit, is the Acropolis’ most famous temple—dedicated to Athena, the goddess of wisdom and protector of the city. Built in the 5th century BC, its marble columns and intricate sculptures are considered one of the greatest achievements of ancient architecture, and today it remains the ultimate symbol of Athens and democracy itself.
Places to eat & drink in Greece

The best lobster pasta I ever had in Santorini
Yemeni Taverna (Naoussa Old Town): A hidden gem in Naoussa’s alleys, serving authentic Greek mezze, grilled fish, and local specialties in a warm, relaxed setting.
Siparos (Near Santa Maria Beach): Beachfront dining with elevated Mediterranean flavors and fresh seafood—best enjoyed at sunset with a glass of wine.
Barbarossa (Naoussa Harbor): An iconic harbor restaurant blending creative seafood with chic, lively ambiance—perfect for a glamorous but vibey night out.
MIA’S Restaurant (Oia, Santorini): Set on a cliffside veranda with sweeping views over the caldera, MIA’S offers modern Greek cuisine elevated with a creative flair—think fresh Aegean catches, grilled octopus with fava mousse, or oxtail pastitsio.
Sunset Taverna by Paraskevas: Dine by the water’s edge in Ammoudi Bay at Sunset by Paraskevas—Oia’s iconic seafood taverna. Celebrated in international media, it’s famous for its fresh catch, legendary lobster pasta, and unforgettable Santorini sunsets.

Need to know
Best time to visit: May–June or September–October → mild weather, fewer crowds, ideal for beaches and exploring.
Experiences and culture: Private or small-group tours of historic sites, museums, and archaeological landmarks.
Explore local villages, artisan shops, and traditional markets.
Join cooking classes or food tours for hands-on Greek cuisine experiences.
Beaches: Greece has some of the world’s most stunning beaches—golden sand, crystal-clear water, and hidden coves.
Explore smaller, less crowded beaches or water-access lagoons via boat or private transfer.
Transport & Inter-Island Travel: Private drivers or car rentals make island and village exploration easier. High-speed ferries, catamarans, or private yachts are the main way to hop between islands—there are no inter-island flights.
Paros → Antiparos: 5–10 minute ferry, frequent and reliable. Private transfers enhance comfort. Meltemi winds (June–September) can make ferry trips rough—plan accordingly.
Food and dining: Mix fine dining with tavernas, fresh seafood, local wines, and olive oils.
Explore both tourist hotspots and off-the-beaten-path eateries for authentic flavors.
Packing and planning: Pack light, breathable clothes for daytime, layers for evenings. Summer can get hot! Comfortable walking shoes for cobblestone streets and historic sites are a must. There are many hills in Athens and Santorini. Leave the heels at home. Paros is comparatively flat, while Costa Naverino is the flattest location of the four.
Book popular tours, beach excursions, spa days, and local cooking classes in advance, especially in peak season.
Timing and photography: In the early morning, there are fewer crowds at landmarks. Golden hour (sunrise/sunset) is ideal for photos, especially Santorini cliffs and coastal views.
Leave time for spontaneous exploration—hidden beaches, seaside cafes, and charming villages. And private guides or drivers make it easier to discover off-the-beaten-path gems.
Don’t skip Antiparos—its vertical caves and beach clubs and small-town charm are incredible and drop-dead gorgeous!
Try the spa in Costa Naverino, Anazoe Spa. It is widely regarded as one of Greece’s premier wellness destinations, earning numerous prestigious awards over the years.
