Curator’s statement
Norway completely surprised me with how peaceful and dramatic the scenery felt at the same time. Sailing through the fjords surrounded by waterfalls, mountains, and tiny villages honestly feels unreal, and every port has its own unique atmosphere. I loved how easy it was to combine nature, scenic rail journeys, and relaxed coastal cities all in one trip. Norway is also one of my favorite destinations to experience by cruise because you wake up to a different incredible view every morning without constantly repacking.

Day 1: Exploring Oslo

Start your trip in Oslo, a city that perfectly mixes modern Scandinavian design with waterfront scenery and history. Spend the day walking around the harbor area, visiting the famous Oslo Opera House, and exploring the cafés and shops around Aker Brygge. I also recommend visiting Vigeland Park, which is one of the most unique sculpture parks I’ve visited in Europe. Oslo feels relaxed and easy to explore, making it a great introduction to Norway.
Day 2: Bergen & fjord views

Travel west to Bergen, one of Norway’s most beautiful coastal cities and a popular cruise port for fjord itineraries. Walk around the colorful Bryggen waterfront area before taking the Fløibanen funicular for incredible views over the city and surrounding fjords.
One of my favorite ways to experience Bergen was kayaking through the harbor and waterways, which gives you a completely different perspective of the city and surrounding mountains. Bergen has a cozy atmosphere even on rainy days, and if you’re cruising Norway, this is one of the ports where simply walking off the ship already gives you amazing scenery.
Day 3: Geirangerfjord & scenic adventures

Today is all about Norway’s dramatic fjord landscapes, especially Geirangerfjord. Cruising through the fjords is genuinely one of the best ways to experience Norway because the scenery constantly changes with waterfalls, cliffs, and tiny villages appearing around every corner.
One of the most unforgettable experiences here was driving massive off-road buggy style trucks through the fjord landscapes and mountain roads—it felt adventurous while still giving incredible panoramic views along the route. I recommend spending as much time as possible on deck while sailing into the fjords, because the journey itself becomes one of the highlights of Norway.
Day 4: Stavanger & coastal Norway

Finish your itinerary in Stavanger, another fantastic cruise port known for colorful streets, waterfront cafés, and access to incredible natural scenery. The old town area with its white wooden houses, feels charming and peaceful, while nearby fjord excursions offer some of Norway’s most famous viewpoints. If time allows, I’d recommend a Lysefjord cruise or hiking experience for even more dramatic scenery. Norway is one of those destinations where even the journey between places becomes part of the adventure.
Need to know
Norway can be expensive, so booking excursions and activities in advance is a great way to stay organized and manage your budget before traveling.
I genuinely think one of the best ways to experience Norway is by cruise because you can visit multiple fjords and coastal cities while enjoying incredible scenery directly from the ship. Many cruise ports are also very walkable, making it easy to explore independently without needing long transfers.
Even during summer, temperatures can feel cool around the fjords, so layering and waterproof clothing are always a good idea.
