Advisor - Days in Dubrovnik: A 3-Day Guide
Curator’s statement

I had the best dates here with my boyfriend. There is beauty on every corner of Dubrovnik. It is perfect for a romantic getaway with cute restaurants and culture everywhere. It is a very intimate and small town, so it is stunning, and very special, to explore with the person you love.

Day 1: Walk the famous walls of Dubrovnik

The walls of Dubrovnik are an absolute must-do and one of the most romantic experiences in the city. I’d recommend going early in the morning or near sunset to avoid the heat and crowds. The views over the rooftops and Adriatic Sea are unreal, and there are so many perfect photo spots along the route.

Insider tip: Wear comfy shoes, bring water, and stop for a drink at one of the cliffside bars along the walls. Don’t rush the experience. Make sure you do not give yourself a time limit, just enjoy the journey.

Afterwards, I’d spend the afternoon wandering through Old Town with no real plan. The hidden alleyways, marble streets, and little cafés make the whole place feel magical.

For dinner, I loved Proto for a romantic evening or Azur Dubrovnik for something cozy and relaxed. End the night with gelato and a walk along Stradun once the crowds disappear. Perfect!

Day 2: Cable cars & sunset views

Day two has to include the Dubrovnik Cable Car because the views from the top are incredible. Seeing the Old Town from above really shows how beautiful the city is. I’d recommend timing it for late afternoon so you can watch the sunset over the coastline. It feels so romantic once the city starts glowing in the evening light.

Back in town, I’d spend the evening exploring the quieter side streets away from the busy main areas. Some of the best moments came from finding tiny wine bars and hidden restaurants tucked into the stone alleyways. Lady Pi-Pi is perfect for a relaxed dinner with rooftop views, and Nishta has such a lovely atmosphere.

The Old Town at night feels completely different and so much calmer. Every corner is so beautiful.

Day 3: Boat trips & cliffside sunsets

For day three, I’d definitely recommend doing a boat trip to the nearby islands. The Elaphiti Islands are perfect for couples wanting a slower and more relaxing day. The water is crystal clear, the villages are beautiful, and there are plenty of little swimming spots along the way. It’s such a nice contrast to the busy Old Town.

Once back in Dubrovnik, I’d head to Buža Bar for sunset drinks overlooking the sea. Watching the sunset from the cliffs was honestly one of my favorite memories from the trip.

For a final romantic dinner, Restaurant 360 is perfect if you want something extra special. Finish the evening with one last slow walk through the Old Town streets. There is always something new to see or find.

Need to know

  • The best months to visit Dubrovnik are usually May, June, and September for warm weather without peak summer crowds.

  • Dubrovnik is very walkable, but there are lots of stairs, so comfy shoes are essential.

  • I’d also recommend looking at cruises because so many Mediterranean itineraries stop in Dubrovnik, making it an amazing way to experience the city.

  • If you love “Game of Thrones,” you’ll spot filming locations all over Old Town too.
