Curator’s statement

Key Largo's Bakers Cay Resort is simply just a perfect hotel. From weddings, to baby moons and everything in between this hotel is brilliant. They have all the things you would ever need. Food is also superb and don’t get me started with their amazing award winning key lime pie! It’s absolutely delightful. They have games to entertain the kids. They also have different activities throughout the day that are super fun. Yes they are pet friendly of course. You must stay here when visiting Key Largo. Thank me later.

Where to stay

Unlock perks by contacting Olema to book your trip.

Day 1: Arrival

A balcony with swinging seats next to a wooden table

Arrive and check into Bakers Cay Resorts getting settled into your room with a balcony over looking the beach of course.

Spend the afternoon relaxing by one of the two pools or by the private beach.

For dinner, dine at the resort's restaurant Calusca and make sure to try their signature key lime pie. It’s an award winning key lime pie. DELISH!

After dinner take a stroll along the resorts nature trials through the lush tropical landscapes.

Day 2: Excursions and exploring the Keys

Food on a white plate

Start your day with the breakfast buffet at the Calusca restaurant (add another key lime pie because why not?)

Book a half day snorkeling or sailing excursion from the resort to explore the Florida Keys coral reefs and marine life

After returning, rent some bikes from the resort and cycle into Downtown Key Largo to explore the local stores and restaurants.

Have dinner at the resorts Dry Rocks which specializes in tacos and tequila. My absolute favorite.

Day 3: Relaxing by the pool

A waterfall feature in a swimming pool

Take a morning workout class like fitness or yoga offered at the resort

Spend the day relaxing by the adult only pool with a good book and frozen drinks form the Tiki Bar. Piña Coladas are my go to!

In the evening, head off the resort for dinner at The Fish House a renowned local seafood restaurant

Cap off the night by joining the nightly sunset celebration at Mallory Square in Key West. About an hour drive.

Day 4: Pennekamp Coral Ref State Park

View of a beach-front hotel during the daytime

Before departing have one last slice of that Key lime pie (you won’t regret it)

On your way out stop by Pennekamp Coral Ref State Park to snorkel, scuba or kayak plus many more amazing adventures like glass bottom boat touring

If you have more time visit the Florida Keys brewing Co. or take an eco tour to see dolphins, birds and other wildlife.
