Some journeys are measured not by the miles traveled, but by the impact they leave on our hearts. Our July 30–August 2, 2026 adventure to the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum was one of those special experiences. This collection preserves moments of discovery, reflection, laughter, and fellowship as we explored two remarkable destinations dedicated to sharing biblical history through immersive exhibits and inspiring storytelling. From standing beneath the towering beams of the life-sized Ark to walking through the beautifully designed exhibits at the Creation Museum, each stop offered opportunities to learn, ask questions, and appreciate the craftsmanship and dedication behind these attractions. Our stay at Comfort Suites in Williamstown provided us welcoming place to rest, share stories from each day's adventures, and strengthen friendships. Together, we created memories that extend far beyond photographs.

Travel has always been more than simply visiting new places for me—it’s about connecting with people, embracing different cultures, and returning home with a new perspective. My journey through Morocco from April 23 to May 2, 2026, did exactly that. Every day brought unforgettable moments, from exploring ancient cities and breathtaking landscapes to sharing conversations with welcoming locals. Morocco left a lasting impression on my heart, reminding me that some of life’s greatest lessons are found far beyond our comfort zones.

Route 66 is more than a highway—it’s a story you don’t just read about, you live. I traveled it in 2010, tracing the same miles that have carried dreamers, migrants, workers, soldiers, and families since the road’s birth in 1926. With every stretch of pavement, it felt like driving through America’s memory, mile by mile. Being on Route 66 is like moving through a living archive. I passed faded neon signs glowing against the dusk, stepped into restored diners where time seemed to pause, and stayed near vintage motels and hand-painted billboards that still carry the optimism of another era. Those moments weren’t frozen in the past—they were alive, shaped by resilience, ambition, and reinvention. Every curve in the road reminded me not just of where America has been, but of my own place within that long, unfolding journey.

Our journey through Peru was more than a tour—it was an immersion into a living tapestry of culture, history, and human connection. From the bustling streets of Lima to the mist-shrouded peaks of Machu Picchu, the experience revealed the extraordinary depth and diversity of a nation shaped by ancient civilizations and enduring traditions.

Our recent getaway to a charming cottage overlooking the serene waters of Barren River Lake was nothing short of magical—a heartfelt celebration of family, nature, and the joy of discovery. Tucked away in a peaceful, tree-lined setting, the cottage felt like a hidden gem, offering both comfort and character. Its cozy interior, thoughtfully decorated with rustic touches and modern amenities, created the perfect atmosphere for connection and relaxation. Each morning began with a quiet moment of reflection on the screened-in porch, where we sipped coffee while watching the mist rise gently from the lake—an experience that set the tone for the entire day. The view was nothing less than breathtaking, with sunlight dancing on the water and birdsong echoing from the nearby woods. As the day unfolded, we explored the surrounding area, made memories with new adventures, and always looked forward to returning “home” to our lakeside retreat. Evenings were reserved for fireside conversations under the stars, gathered around the glowing warmth of the fire pit—laughing, reminiscing, and soaking in the beauty of uninterrupted time together. It was more than just a trip—it was a refreshing reminder of what matters most.

In 2023, my mother, myself and family embarked on a much-anticipated trip to Branson, Missouri, where we stayed at the picturesque Watermill Cove. This trip was particularly meaningful as we navigated the journey with my mothers muscular dystrophy, relying on her power chair and walker to make our travels more accessible and enjoyable.

Planning the journey

Traveling with accessibility needs requires careful planning, and this trip was no exception. We chose Branson for its reputation as a family-friendly destination with plenty of accessible attractions and activities. Watermill Cove stood out as a great option for lodging due to its amenities and accessibility features.

From the moment we arrived, Watermill Cove exceeded our expectations. The property was not only beautiful but also thoughtfully designed for individuals with mobility challenges.

Our accommodations included:
- Spacious cabin: The layout allowed plenty of space for maneuvering the power chair. With her bedroom on the main level with attached full handicap accessible bathroom
- Step-free access: Entryways and common areas were smooth and accessible.

This journey aboard the Norwegian Joy in August 2019 was more than just a cruise; it was a voyage into the heart of nature’s grandeur and humanity’s enduring spirit. From the moment we sailed out of Seattle, we were enveloped by the promise of exploration and discovery.

Alaska revealed itself as a land of contrasts: towering glaciers and serene waters, bustling ports and untouched wilderness. Each destination told its story — Juneau’s thrilling wildlife encounters, Skagway’s rich Gold Rush history and Ketchikan’s vibrant cultural heritage. Even the moments at sea, surrounded by the silence of Glacier Bay’s icy vistas, became profound experiences of reflection and awe.

The Norwegian Joy was our gateway to these adventures, blending modern comforts with opportunities to connect deeply with the environment. The ship itself became part of the narrative, a floating sanctuary offering both exhilaration and tranquility.

This trip was a celebration of Alaska’s rugged beauty, a testament to its allure for adventurers past and present and a reminder of the importance of preserving these breathtaking landscapes for future generations. Whether soaring above fjords or savoring local salmon, every moment was curated with a sense of wonder and discovery.
