You can go from sipping coconut water on the beach to hiking through the jungle, or from wandering through colonial towns to dancing at a street festival—all on the same trip. Every region has its own personality, its own flavors, its own rhythm.

Over the years, Peru has created a gateway for food-obsessed travelers. The fine dining scene, especially in Lima, is exploding with some of the world's best restaurants. And I've been there to experience it all. Believe me when I tell you every food-loving traveler should make their way to Peru.

Puerto Rico holds a very special place in my heart. It was the first Caribbean Island I ever visited. Its vibrant culture, rich history, breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality continue to captive me even after all these years.

Did you know that Curaçao is one of three ABC Caribbean islands? Or that their beautifully colored houses that we know today were once all white? Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao are part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and are located in the southern Carribbean Sea, off the coast of Venezuela. The houses of Curacao were once so white that a 19th-century doctor noticed that the governor had eye problems caused by the reflection of the sunlight on the white walls. Therefore, the governor asked for colored walls. Eventually, this was required. This law is no longer in place, but the custom remains.
