Before this trip, I expected Alaska to impress me with its scenery. What I didn’t expect was how deeply it would stay with me! Traveling alongside my mother and sister-in-law gave me the opportunity to slow down, disconnect from everyday life, and truly appreciate one of the last great wildernesses in the United States. Whether we were enjoying our morning coffee while admiring vast glaciers, watching humpback whales surface alongside the ship, or learning directly from members of the Tlingit Tribe, every day offered a new perspective. Alaska wasn’t simply a cruise destination, but rather an experience that reminded me why I believe travel has the power to inspire, connect, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Reykjavík surprised me in the best way. It’s a city that feels small and personal, yet it carries a strong creative energy shaped by nature, design, and Icelandic culture. What stood out most during my time here was how effortlessly it balances adventure and stillness—one moment you’re walking colorful streets, the next you’re soaking in geothermal waters overlooking the Atlantic. For travelers beginning their Icelandic journey, Reykjavík offers a grounding introduction to the country’s rhythm, blending culture, wellness, and raw landscapes in a way that feels authentic rather than overwhelming.

The Arctic has always represented the edge of the world to me; raw, remote, and endlessly inspiring. Experiencing Iceland and Greenland aboard Norwegian Star transformed that idea into something tangible, emotional, and unforgettable.
