We embarked on December 2nd, 2025, on an extraordinary journey with Silversea Cruises. This being my second cruise with this remarkable company, I was especially fortunate to experience it aboard Silver Ray, the most modern vessel in their fleet of twelve ships. Embarkation day was, and will always remain, unforgettable. The sheer majesty of Silver Ray standing proudly at the port of Fort Lauderdale was truly breathtaking.

La Paz, often called Puerto de Ilusión, is one of the most enchanting cities in Baja California Sur. Known for its charming waterfront promenade, vibrant marine life, and breathtaking desert-sea landscapes, La Paz is a destination that never ceases to amaze me. As Jacques Cousteau once said, “The Sea of Cortez is without a doubt the world’s aquarium.” Here, I’ve witnessed the largest seagulls I’ve ever seen, swum alongside the gentle whale shark, and even watched majestic humpback whales breaching near the horizon. The biodiversity of these waters is unlike anywhere else. If you’re looking for a weekend escape that feels like another planet, without the big resort crowds of Los Cabos, La Paz is the perfect place. The contrast between the golden desert and the turquoise sea is simply otherworldly.

Los Angeles is one of the largest and most fascinating cities I’ve ever visited. Its endless freeways, multicultural vibe, and harmonious chaos make every visit unique. In our case, a long weekend was enough to feel like we were in a Hollywood movie. Even though we weren’t in a convertible, the sunset was just as beautiful from the double-decker open-top tourist bus.

Los Cabos was my home for four years, and I can honestly say that winter is the most magical season here. The combination of perfect weather, a vibrant culinary scene, and the chance to witness humpback whales right offshore makes it unforgettable. What makes it even more special for me is that no matter how many times I’ve done whale watching or taken off-road adventures through the desert, it always feels fresh and unique, like Cabo is constantly revealing a new side of itself.

Mexico City is one of my favorite places in the world, a city of vibrant chaos that somehow works in perfect harmony. I’ve called Mexico home for over eight years, and experiencing the Formula 1 Grand Prix here is unlike anywhere else. The energy of the city collides with the adrenaline of racing: Friday’s practice laps with the smell of burning rubber, Saturday’s electric qualifying session, and the Sunday roar when the winner is revealed. It was one of the most unforgettable weekends of my life.

Our journey began with a flight from Quito to San Cristóbal Island. Immediately, the air buzzed with anticipation, the gateway to one of Earth’s most enchanting and unspoiled places.
