My Travel Style
Travel is my passion, and I love exploring both popular destinations and hidden gems. I’m all about off-the-beaten-path adventures—ask me about my journey through rural Gunma, hands down the best trip I’ve ever taken—but I also crave blissful beach escapes. I’m an experienced traveler who feels at home navigating new places, thanks to my love of cultural immersion, language learning, and making local connections. I also travel with food allergies (gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free) and some mobility challenges, so I understand the importance of planning with accessibility and dietary needs in mind. While Japan holds a special place in my heart, I have interests and connections in places all over the globe. I am a tough customer to please when it comes to Japan — I used to live there, so I am very familiar with Tokyo and Kyoto, among other areas.
Still, Alyson was able to find off-the-path attractions that I’d never experienced before, making this trip less of a homecoming and more of a vacation (which I desperately needed).
She’s very detail-oriented and was able to help me find decent places to stay despite being on a strict budget. I never felt unsafe or as though my accommodations were in a bad location. In fact, my main hotel was incredibly convenient despite its price, and the two ryokan I stayed in were an experience I’d gladly pay way more for.
She also helped me gather my itinerary documents for insurance claims after I got COVID and had to delay my return home.
I was a little skeptical of her profile at first given that I had pretty tall orders, but I’m so glad I went with her in the end. She knows the tourist spots, yes, but if you’re looking for something more unique, her knowledge does NOT disappoint.

Ally was very helpful and responsive throughout the whole planning process. She was also available while we were away and helped with a train mishap. All of our hotels were amazing and in prime locations. Her itinerary meshed well with our request and preferences. Her itinerary was the perfect balance between busy and relaxing. She also provided extra options for things to do in case we changed our mind day of. 100% would book another trip with Ally!!!!
