Everything about this hotel feels fresh and new, and of the three hotels in Puerto Vallarta that we’re covering, Hotel Mousai is easily the most stylish and unique. The decor is decidedly contemporary, with an artful flair that’s as intriguing as it is relaxing.

Hotel Mousai is also the smallest choice by a wide margin, but this only lends the hotel an air of exclusivity and intimacy. All in all, consider this hotel a ritzy, youthful choice that’s ideal for romantic getaways.

The only real downside to this Puerto Vallarta hotel is that it doesn’t offer immediate beach access. However, there are complimentary trolly rides available, and the beach is only about 10 minutes away on foot.

2. Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta - A Tafer Resort: a family-friendly alternative to Hotel Mousai

Garza Blanca Resort & Spa trades the ultra-luxe theme of Hotel Mousai for more of a down-to-earth experience that may be appealing to travelers with a stricter budget. Don’t take that as a dig, though: Garza Blanca Resort & Spa certainly maintains a high-end reputation.

This Puerto Vallarta resort is also family-friendly and boasts a greater range of on-site activities, both in terms of relaxation and fun. There are several outdoor pools, a full spa and private beach access, one of the few edges Garza Blanca Resort & Spa offers over Hotel Mousai.

Finally, there is also a greater range of accommodations here, with some of the best rooms being comparable to the top-tier suites of our former choice.

3. Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta: one of the best Puerto Vallarta hotels for nightlife seekers

Hyatt Ziva is the largest of our three Puerto Vallarta hotels, and while you won’t find the same level of intimacy here as you will at Hotel Mousai — there are a little over 300 rooms at Hyatt Ziva — guests can still enjoy an overall upscale experience. 

More notably, Hyatt Ziva is the best choice if you’re eager to explore Puerto Vallarta itself. Zona Romántica, for instance, is only minutes away by car and is home to dozens of cool bars, nightclubs and restaurants. This unique neighborhood has a cool, cosmopolitan vibe and is overtly LGBTQ+ friendly.
